Not sure what they did then. I scanned it at self check out, it rang up as "cannot sell". Someone came over and scanned it with a handheld, then told me the street date. After a brief back and forth they said they would talk to the manager and she did something at the customer service desk that let me buy it.

 

That's super weird. No one else has had this problem. I wonder what happened.

 

Honestly, it's just my area. The three stores in the are (Riverbank. McHenry, & Sisk) have been like this for years. I remember issues buying Siege wave 1 when it came out because of street dates.

 

Not sure if this is related, but I ran Slag's number on a couple of the newer price checkers yesterday, and the availability came up as "pre order unsellable".

Update: Yep, just called a Target that has Slag in stock, and the lady at customer service said he is streetdated for August 1st and can't be sold until then. Seems like the preorder fulfillment date somehow got listed as a streetdate . . . for some stores.

Found one Grindor at stonestown sf target , and missing its casemate.

 

Trying to concoct a plan to spring Slag from his backroom prison -- how does this sound?

Step 1: Find an employee with a scanner and have them look up the Studio Series Leader Class case assortment DPCI.

Step 2: Ask the employee to pull "Dinobot Slug," the red and silver dinosaur from the case.

Step 3: At the self-checkout register, scan a generated barcode for the SS Leader Class case assortment instead of the barcode on the figure itself.

I'm hoping that by avoiding running Slag's specific DPCI number, I'll be able to get one out of the backroom and ultimately out of the store. Has anyone ever tried to scan a generated barcode at the register, though? They ring up on the price checkers, but I dunno if it's a different story at the registers.

 

It would work, problem is that that screws with the inventory.

Even then, I’ve had good luck at ringing street-dated stuff before, stuff like SS86 Hot Rod and Scourge, SS Blitzwing and Topspin, even SS Leadfoot. Only figure that was street dated that I had issues with was SS Overload, and that was more due to Target just being screwy with its listing rather than anything; a trip to Customer Service, and it was fixed (with me getting it at $30, too!)

I actually like this repaint and sad others can't appreciate a lime green dinosaur skeleton with gold accents.

 

Don’t get me wrong, I love it. There isn’t a Soundwave anywhere, I’m not sure what the case assortment is, but the all Dracodons is discouraging…

 

I think the case assortment has the two, as well as a repack of Core Prime and CoreScream. But yeah… even if the figure’s decent, I don’t expect it to sell well, and it’ll likely just stay around until Legacy begins… being packed with three affordable versions of recognizable characters probably isn’t going to bode well.

 

Well, when you put it that way....

Are we even getting another wave of Kingdom Core?

 

Unknown. But there’s talk of continuing the core line so seeing Soundwave and others in a future assortment might not be out of the question.

Eastlake Walmart has a Core Prime, a CoreScream, 3 Core Soundwaves, 10 Dracodons, 3 Cheetors, 4 Blackarachnias, 2 Warpaths, 2 Paleotrexes, and an Arcee. One Bee/Spike set is left at the discount price of $10.

Eastlake Walmart has a Rattrap, 2 Core Megatrons, 2 Cheetors, 3 of his Netflix Variant, a Blackarachnia, a Warpath, a Paleotrex, 2 Arcees, 2 Huffers, and a Sparkless Bot. For RED, there’s 4 Megatrons, 3 Arcees, and 2 Cheetors.

 

Frankly I want to pay a discount on the leader class slug like how I got Grimlock.. so I would wait till it shelf-warming... hopefully it would happen like how Grimlock did... but the question is ... the case assortment with a Grindor .. will it ever stay at the shelf over extensively...

 

It’s possible that retailers adjusted their orders based on Grimlock’s performance, and Grimlock was a full case as well…

 

Seems like Grindor is more likely to stay behind especially since he's just a blackout repaint.
