I know what you mean. I wanted straight g1 on my shelves and ft is mostly g1 but has just that little flare that makes them ft. So my opinions changed on what looked good to me. My head canon for stuff like this tho is that they were all from different areas of cybertron so of course they would all look a little different. Just depends on when they were created and what tooling, material, hardware, paint, etc were available/popular at the time. Which works for me bc thats how it works irl

If not, I miss out. I sold my Hasbro boxed set with this or v2 in mind, so I've been without one of my faves for a year or so, and I can't miss out!

I reckon Ratbat with Soundblaster, to get you to buy a full figure because you want Ratbat, and Buzzsaw with Slugfest and Overkill so you have to buy the latter two just to get Buzzsaw.
This way, anyone who wants to go up to TFTM needs to buy two S3 tapes and a JG1 figure to do so.

Depends. I've bought a shitload before now (it filled a dx9 Gabriel shipping box, i.e. a box that fitted two of them in) and it cost me £6.50, just like it did to ship XTB's trailer.

Haven't combined TFS-Express China before, but I think you can go up to about 20kg or so? That might be dimensional though, so it's worth checking.

looks great but I'm kinda scratching my head with how easy it is to get MP SW and it's bootlegs why anyone else would bother. But saying that I do like the interchangeable parts.

 

Where is the hasbro soundwave speculation coming from? Was there a reference or hint dropped?

 

I mean, it still think its a fine figure, but its showing its age against newer molds:

So it would be nice to have a mold in MP size that fits that more cartoon-y aesthetic (which I realize is not everyone's cup of tea). Don't see a problem with having both, after all I almost have as many separate Soundwave molds as I do Starscreams (MP-52 was my 14th, and I'm on board for Deformation's). TT might be coming out with a new Soundwave too, but whatever if they are I'll get that too.

 

Nothing more than the rebrand (keeping FT brand safe if this attracts TT action) and the 'sudden' release (i.e. here's final pics and out September seeming to leapfrog many other expected FT figures). Those could suggest there are rumours of a new TT SW and FT want theirs out fast and somewhat 'safely'. All very speculative though.

 

Because options are good. Not everyone is a fan of mp13. Some want the toy look. Others want a toy filled with diecast. Others want the cassettes that arguably look a million times better.

Takara will undoubtedly come up with a 2.0 Soundwave at some point, with skinny thighs, round pudgy fingers, and cracking ankles… but in the off chance that doesn’t happen reasonably soon, this is a good alternate option. Also, Fanstoys is worshipped like a god, so value holds better. FT hasn’t been ko’d yet in 10 years (I know reflector ko was shown, but haven’t heard an update on that since they dared to go public).

 

So... what are we looking at here? $500?

MP Soundwave looks downright archaic next to this. Anyone saying otherwise is a closet Takara fanboy

 

The more I look at this guy, the better he looks to me. The alternate parts for the toy accurate mode is just the cherry on top.

Now, if you're someone who owns MP-13, I don't know if this would be enough to warrant switching it out, but for those of us who don't (namely myself), the scarcity of box-fresh examples of MP-13 on the secondary market makes this an easy buy for me.

 

I have mp13, and I fully plan to kick him to the curb. Zero hesitation.

 

Not to sound like a TT hater, but I feel like if they gave us this, they would release the Toon version THEN release the + version(Toy Deco) as a second release.

This is a really good angle on it. I always want them to be so uniform and perfectly paired with each other, but I suppose it could do with a bit more mish-mash.
