I've preordered it(at Omegalock thanks for the heads up guys)... but I'm still of the option that the TT/Hasbro version is the best looing, more mature, less cartoony, more heroic in proportions, a darker and more metallic paint job. The pre-order is just my FOMO kicking in covering my bases... any way I'm sure if I don't like it as much as the official in hand I will have no issues whatsoever selling it on.

I am 100% expecting that those that aren't so fussed by Soundwave may still be looking to replace their official tapes with something nicer/more modern. That Ravage and Laserbeak do look very good. Especially with them being ~£30 after shipping.

Aw man, I'm on vacation, so I totally slept through this. Well, in all fairness, since I hadn't been paying attention to this thread, I was unaware this was even a thing until I got an email saying "pre-orders" up this morning. Which I didn't see until 5 hours later.

Owel, sounds like a certain North American retailer will be doing another round of pre-orders later today to get those of us who were asleep. Which the splitting makes sense given the ridiculous BS surrounding FT preorders. Because not everyone's awake at 1am, or able to order in the afternoon. So two windows is a little more fair to everyone.

 

I feel like I'd prefer to wait because a Takara v2 is surely right round the corner, but I do like the look of this and the accessories are nice. If Omegalock happen to have preorders up for more than 0.002 seconds I might consider. You?

*edit* aaaannndd having now caught up with the rest of the thread, I see Omegalock orders already came and went while I was typing this post, so I guess that settles that.

I know that you guys aren’t here for this, but what you’re talking about is actually a really complicated but interesting legal doctrine known as the Fact-Opinion Distinction (I’m sure it has other names too.)

Every time I see someone call a bunch of opinions “facts,” I’m always shaking my head, but in this case, the guy who did it made a good response about how he believes that they do become fact… Granted, “This figure is too expensive” is not one of the opinions which can be theorized into fact, under the law, so it doesn’t apply well here, but it can happen.

An example of this would be when I said, “I think Derek Chauvin is a murderer,” in 2020. At the time, it was an opinion. Then, he was convicted this year, making it factual that he is a convicted murderer.

Anyhow, good exchange. It’ll almost never apply well to buying Transformers because it’s almost entirely preference- or value-based, but given how people use language, it’ll be pretty difficult to convince anyone of anything when they’re angry about a $400 transforming robot.

It’s not rational to buy it and it’s not rational to get angry about it because there will be others which come along. But I’m almost definitely going to do one of them.

Not to stray from the topic, but with omegalock/tfs ex, what is the combined shipping option that needs to be calculated and when is it good to use it? I piled up a few things on an order days ago and shipping was getting up there so I decided to check that option thinking I'd get something to pay soon but now this morning I got an email saying the orders on hold because of shipping. Have I just not waited enough for it to be calculated?

 

After a decent experience with Bombusbee and the FT bugs. I have no issues putting in another PO in over there with this guy.

 

Now BBTS has theirs, but probably be gone before I post this.

Just not having that "oh, wow" reaction to FT last few offerings.

 

Maybe those along w/ the scout thing from that one episode?

You know what issue I’m having with them? I see the figure they release and think, “That looks really great…” but then, see the character sketches of who they made and it starts to come apart. Their Stunticons are a great example of this.

They all look so clean and symmetrical, but just don’t always look like the actual show’s Stunticons. This doesn’t really seem to be a problem with Soundwave, so I grabbed a copy, but needless to say, I’m a bit slower on the draw with FansToys than I was with some of their more coveted reissues.

 

Not that I'd encourage anyone to buy from them, but TFS has had their PO up since I woke up this morning. I really think we're going to see larger quantities than we typically do under the FT banner.

 

I wonder if the mp blaster they teased will be released.under Fanstoys or this new name or if it is canceled?
