I love that we're discussing the accuracy of something that was shot so badly in the only scene it was ever in that nobody is sure what accuracy even is.

All there really is to say is whether the toy as it exists looks appealing or not.

Hence why we tend to like those.

Not piling on just because I'm not a Bayformer fan. The engineering looks impressive. And the robot is really great. I just look at the car kibble and think it should just break down into more pieces and form armor strips, more like a gundam, maybe.

This has been the biggest disappointment of the Studio Series figures for me. I've liked almost all of the figures aside from the Deluxe price point cars, because all of their transformations end with 'and then you just take most of the car shell and it becomes a cape'.

Yup, that there is a robot that turns into a car. Could have tossed out just about anything and sold me that it is what Jolt is suppose to look like. Was perfectly happy with the first one we got of him, now I have to completely rethink all that I thought was true over the past decade.

Is why I keep all of mine in vehicle mode... They look way better that way imo.

i love how it looks in robot mode, but then again, as i have heard, if everyone liked everything the same way, there wouldn't be enough of anything for anyone

I guess he looks movie accurate? Hard to tell when we saw Jolt for a total of 5 seconds in the movie. Is there even a render of his robot mode anywhere online? :D
He sure has a big backpack there. I wonder about his whips, look kinda silly being straight, can\'t they be bent? I assumed would be made of rubbery plastic or have a wire in the core.

I like it. I still enjoy the DOTM mold even though it's the wrong colors. I missed out on the version Takara did with the whips.

So far I love what I see

One thing though. Can anyone see if he does have thigh swivels? I can't tell 100% from the images. No matter how much I like this, if he doesn't have thigh swivels it's another boycott for me, like SS Barricade

People are concerned about the robot mode being slightly inconsistent yet the Volt mode doesn't have any gold bowties, nor does it say "VOLT" on the rear.

I think this is just a casualty of continually shrinking paint budgets. 07 Bumblebee didn't have painted Camaro logos either, nor a painted rear bumper.

Just more for the consumer to do!

I wonder if DNA Design is cooking up something for SS Jolt.

On the easy end would be more dynamic whips they could easily bundle with weapons for other characters like the Blackout / Bee / Sentinel set.

On the more ambitious end would be redesigned car doors that fold up better along the hips.

The more I look at Jolt, he looks more like a blue Crosshairs. And its all because of that hip kibble.

They're doing this because so many of the movie designs cheat worse than Beast Wars Dinobot. Especially starting with DOTM. There's only two options within traditional Generations price points: either prioritize having as little kibble as possible (which will result in at least one mode being very inaccurate), or aim for accuracy in both modes, and dumping most of the alt mode onto the back of the robot mode.

Given that Jolt's design is probably one of the biggest cheats in ROTF (thought not half as bad as what was to come in the following movies), I think they've done a reasonable job. the only thing I wish they had done is shove the thigh kibble onto the back. However, the way it's attached is at least more aesthetically pleasing than in a lot of other toys. Honestly, I think my bigger issue is the lack of paint applications - especially on the head. Jolt clearly got the short end of the stick this year.

Though I suppose that's understandable from a budgetary standpoint, given most folks outside of the hardcore fanbase probably don't even know who Jolt is, and even many of those that do probably haven't seen this character model:
