Found a lone Grindor at Sawmill Target over the weekend. Got him open last night. I saw reports of loose joints on him but still had some hope, I loved Blackout so I was excited for this. Most of the joints are okay, but he has a very loose left elbow and a loose right knee. And all around just feels bit more rickety than Blackout. Probably more appropriate in the feedback thread but figured I'd let ya'll know some copys are hit and miss for joint tolerances.
1 Netflix Primal and Sparkless Seeker at Colerain (275) Walmart. I left both. Almost got the seeker but I just don't need it.
Have you tried transforming yours yet? I bought mine yesterday specifically to keep in alt mode, but whooooo boy. I can't get everything to tab in at once no matter what I try, and if you breathe on that helicopter wrong it explodes. Mine also has a loose left elbow, to the point that it won't stay up with the rear rotor blade attached. On an unrelated note, there was one single Cyclonus at the Little York Walmart last night. No sign of Slag or Netflix voyagers yet.
Yeah actually, a lot of them are fairly stable, but the top panels that sit underneath the blades are super awkwardly loose. The back end of the coptor feels good, but yeah the midsection is awkward.
Got Tracks in from Gamestop today. 2 parts of each leg were loose enough standing him wasn't fun, but a layer of top coat for fingernails in the loose areas, and BOOM we have a very good sturdy Tracks.
One of the keys to getting Blackout/Grindor's helicopter mode together correctly is making sure the hips are on the right notch of the ratchet. To do it you have to swing the legs out to the side so most of the thigh can clear the 'skirt'. That lets you move them up one notch past what you get if you try to swing them straight forward under the skirt, then they will sit flush with the top panels. This was a stumbling block for me when I first got Blackout. Don't know if that's the issue you're having but it's the first thing that jumps to mind. My Grindor is very solid overall, much more so than my Blackout. I had an issue with loose and offset hip ratchets on my Blackout that make it so his legs are either straight up and down or spread too far apart. They're perfect on Grindor so he stands much more naturally.
Glad to see it worked! I was half tempted by Grindor because Blackout was nice but something was missing for me. It was one of the few bay movie figures that I liked, but ultimately, sold it off a bit back.
Welcome to the threads! Wow, I'm surprised there are still Sky Lynx sightings at retail. I'm assuming they were still MSRP?
