You're good dude. That statement right there can sum up most Nintendo fans when discussing issues with Nintendo. Lack of sales for 1st party games, piss poor internet "service," dormant IPs, Virtual Console, basic Switch features, cloud saves, etc.

We all love and want the best for Nintendo when it comes to making their games and console as successful as possible, but it is frustrating when the same people that made Mario Kart online are working with the same ones that thought Mario Maker 2 online without friends was a good idea (even then, why can't I play with randos and friends in MM2)

I can't complain in even the slightest. Perfect mix of old and new in my humble opinion. While there have been the most re-releases on a single system yet (close rival to Gameboy Advance)

For new games we got Mario Odyssey, Smash Bros. Ultimate, Luigi's Mansion 3, Pokemon Sword and Shield, Hyrule Warriors Age of Calamity, New Pokemon Snap, Paper Mario Oragami King, Animal Crossing New Horizons, Splatoon 2, just off the top of my head. Then some kick ass remakes such as Links Awakening and Pokemon Lets Go Pikachu and Evee.

Then we got Metroid Dread coming, Pokemon Legends Arceus, BOTW 2, all which are gonna be heavy hitters.

The re-releases have all been pretty awesome too and worth picking up and only so many because the Wii U was such a flop. The games really deserved the chance to be released again.

Interesting. I'm wondering what differences there will be in the docked experience since that's almost all I do these days.

So from what I saw it has:

Slightly larger (6.2 to 7 inch) OLED screen
    Better audio
    Wider stand with multiple positions
    Ethernet port (in dock)

Seems pretty incremental. No mention of improved internals/game performance or improved Joycons.

Only other info I can find is that its storage is 64GB based.

Looks like this is a similar case to how newer models of DS/3DS were sold along with the old instead of how the Wii U tried to replace the Wii.

Though I do worry about the rumors of exclusive games strong-arming folks to get it.

I won't lie. I like the white look.

Will I upgrade. Most like not. Wonder if they'll sell just the dock (and if it'll be compatible).

Definitely more akin to 3DS and 2DS/3DS XL than anything else. Wii U was an entirely different case since it was a new system, not an incremental upgrade. By all accounts (system sales, games on the horizon, etc.) it's still too early for their next system to be announced.

And I wouldn't bother listening to rumors, personally. The rumor mill has been shouting "Switch Pro is coming soon" (which this definitely isn't) for at least three years (if not four) at this point and all we've gotten are a model with improved power efficiency, a handheld-only model, and now this. If there were anything about the new model that would warrant exclusive games, they would be touting it in the announcement.

I'm mildly tempted because I do handheld gaming 95% of the time and getting OLDED with a wider screen would be nice. Having said that. Eh. I'm not there yet. I think maybe, maybe in the future. Or I could wait for the legit Switch 2.

Definitely iterative. The official site listing its new features focuses entirely on the handheld experience. There's no suggestion that the hardware has changed other than the screen, internal storage capacity, speakers, and wired ethernet.

It still says only “up to 1080p via HDMI in TV mode." So I doubt we're seeing any significant render and/or compute increases that could justify any game exclusivity. With that being the case, barring some as yet to be revealed revelation pertaining to the internal hardware and its performance changing, I wouldn't put any stock in the rumors of exclusive games. They aren't going to pin their game sales to early adopters of an iterative SKU refresh when they have this massively successful established install base imo.

Does look nice, though, I admit. And at least it isn't a huge premium above the standard model (50 USD more roughly. Another reason I doubt it's going to offer any significant performance uplift. If it did, they'd be able to justify a higher price tag.) It comes in blue and red standard colors, too. Buy Now – Nintendo Switch - Bundles, What's Included

I would be extremely surprised if there were exclusive games for it. That's not how Nintendo does things AFAIK. More that they go out of their way to support the older consoles - think Wii U version of BOTW or Gamecube Twilight Princess.

Ethernet port in dock is kind of nice. I have hardwired internet available where my switch is but never bothered with the adapter since I didn't see the need - WiFi works fine for me with it.

I'm hoping it won't be much more than £320ish, but I'm not gonna hold my breath..

i've used my switch in handheld mode like 5 times, so this isn't for me. the colors are slick as shit though, i wish the normal switch had color options like that (although mine was a present so there might be other colors i'm not aware of lol)

I did use it handheld a fair amount when I traveled for business. Didn't travel a lot but it was handy when I did.

But those days are gone and who knows when or if they will come back.

I wish it was a performance boost too. It would be a definite buy. As of right now I’m using it docked and I have an OLED tv.

Definitely an easy pass. Any kind of performance upgrade would have been nice.

OLED is a weird choice considering almost all their games are cartoony looking.

Looks like a nice iterative refresh. The Switch gets passed around a lot in my household so it’s cool that both this and the Lite exists so we can have multiples for everyone to play on.

What? Art style has nothing to do with why OLED is better than LCD. OLED means better colors and brightness. I have an OLED TV. Nintendo games look beautiful on an OLED tv.
