The only issue I've found on mine is the cracked housing for the right stabilizer.

That's intentional, as are asymmetrical points on the ends of the left and right ends that the horizontal tailfins for vehicle mode accuracy.

They're apparently supposed to be different sizes.

They’re supposed to be, those are RWR antennas and are different sizes per side on the F-15.

It occurred to me it might be intentional, but I dismissed the idea because vehicle mode (save from the top) is so far from real world accurate. Looking online I can see you guys are right because they're all like that.

My copy is ok but that transformation! Great Scot! It's complicated, I can't even describe it

Meanwhile went for another transformation cycle. 1 engine nozzle was always easier to extend than the other and I found out why(see dark grey piece):

Arghhh luckily the crack doesn’t widen when the nozzle is extended or retracted and the other size isn’t cracked. This is where a solid pin was used also.

All the cracks I’ve noticed on my copy I noticed are on plastic that doesn’t feel prone to cracking. So for now, I don’t think most of the cracks will get worse. I think the cracks are occurring due to how these are assembled(with the firing of the pins/rivets into the plastic).

Also noticed that the faux canopy can push forward a few millimeters and also push in a few millimeters. Pushing in/compressing it in jet mode is the only way for the cover to clip on within the underbody(and even then it’s a shallow clip). Pushing in the bottom and pushing the top forward in robot mode helps free the ab crunch I think.

Not sure if this is supposed to happen but sometimes when enabling the ab crunch, a light grey clip on the right side of the bottom torso unclips.

Also in jet mode, the way the rear landing gear are handled here is better than on MP-03/11 where either looked like the jet was resting on its belly or landing gear doors. There’s definitely more distance between the rear tires here and the underbody by comparison.

Best way I can describe the jet mode is take the Sunbow animation model and whatever jet parts are shown(for example some of the robot parts like the knees could be seen on the animation model the animators would reference) have detail from the F-15. So while this is figure is based on the animation, it still does have some realistic details as to not leave the jet mode look basic/plain as hell. It’s a good mix.

Good chance it won’t, at least for now.

I had the same problem with mine fallin over. Found out the thrusters need to be pulled out some in order for them to act as proper heel spurs. May be something to check on yours too.

Won’t work for 1 of mine as the nozzle hinge is cracked on 1 leg.

Thanks, but I have a cracked ankle joint like a lot of other people so the ankles are just too loose to stand at all. But I will keep that in mind for sure if I ever manage to tighten up the joints!

No cracks on mine, just loose ankles but I applied a bunch of future into all of his ankle joints with a Q-tip this morning and they’re already nice and firm. That stuff works miracles.

No cracks or problems at all on mine, but he's basically untouchable. THe transformation is impressive and the tricks and engineering are great, but so much of this stuff yells "done in a CAD program without regard for the actual materials we'd use".

This figure will break with almost any amount of semi-regular transformation. You'll transform this maybe 10 times ever. If they're going to be doing this, they need to use a lot more diecast metal on these fragile points.

Found what I’m hoping are just paint cracks on the left forearm near the wrist joints. They haven’t expanded when retracting the hands.
I’ve transformed mind quite a bit since last Friday. Any cracks on mine are from the way it was assembled, not through transformation.

Pics of the cracks on mine except for right stabilizer base and the left blue forearm near the hand(can’t tell if the plastic is cracked or just the paint so I didn’t get a good pic yet):

It stinks that things like this happen...especially on figures like these. I hope everyone who ends up with a defective figure sends it back. You waited way too long for it to show up and paid way too much money to have to live with issues that shouldn't happen in the first place. Plus, it's a good way to let the retailers and manufacturer know the product did not live up to basic expectations. I don't expect perfection in anything like this...but it shouldn't arrive broken or so loose that it's unable to be used properly.

Question: I'm waiting for mine, it hasn't yet been shipped. Now I'm weary that I may get the ankle issue. So what about possible fixes? There were some in the News thread about this guy, but maybe lets talk about possible solutions, other than sending it back (though, if push comes to shove, I may very will be doing that).

Does anybody more skilled in customizing/repairing this know whether using epoxy putty/resin would be a viable way of fixing this?

He seems very durable to me and I’m not concerned about it being fragile to transform. The ankles are crap but everything else seems strong enough. I think if it was prone to breaking from transforming we definitely would have heard about it by now.

I have a replacement coming from AmiAmi, and if the ankle on that is also cracked, I'm going to try my hand at that Kiki's joint tightener stuff. See what I can do with that.
