It looks to me like they're turning Scorponok into a cannon fodder type character, and not necessarily hinting at a repaint. And while I started writing this a realized why... Anybody else remember in the Earthrise cartoon how Scorponok (the titan) called himself "The last of the Skorponok!"? Yeah I didn't either till just now. But still, in this version of the story the Skorponok are (or I guess, were?) apparently a sub race of Cybertronian or something created/enslaved by the Quintessons. So I guess the BW Scorponok is following that trend, probably being descendants of the G1 titan guy or something. Won't say I find that idea cool, I actually wasn't a big fan of it in Earthrise, but still, that seems to be the concept.

Okay, even I have to admit it's cool seeing the Maximals and Predacons show up...and their Beast modes actually loop pretty cool in the CG animation Is Elita getting through to Optimus from the Well of All Sparks? Is she dead? Looks like Starscream tackles Megatron to try and kill him, because of course he does. So...Galvatron and Nemesis Prime, with Optimus confronting him. Kind of wondering how that happens.
-"Prime... there is something I need you to do." -"Yes? What is it?" -"Start ACTING!!!" Maybe 3 seasons in this guy will at least try and deliver his lines like he was actually acting and not just reading lines from a paper? I am also forgetting things, what does the Allspark do in this series that the Matrix cannot? Gotta say, at least the beast modes look pretty good. Clearly they must have had some animal models on hand. I am not gonna be surprised though if we never see any of them transform, just off-screen change to robot mode. EDIT: never mind, they actually transform... worse than the old Mainframe models. I laughed so much when Cheetor and Tigatron's cat head just become flat painted cat head chestplates. And hey, Astrotrain finally graduated from a 5 second screentime each season to a background character role. Who knows, he might finally even get a line, probably in the last episode! And the Ark, Nemesis Prime and Galvatron? Like this was not a big enough mess already. I also noticed Airrazor protecting Blackarachnia (so she defected already?) as she programs the Nemesis or something, from multiple Scorponoks? So... they are continuing this nonsense "Scorponoks are a race" thing?

This whole Netflix trilogy was supposed to be more dark and serious, and I haven't watched any of it because I don't have Netflix, but every single little thing I've seen and heard about it makes me think it comes across like something a kid would think is dark and mature, rather than being a truly deep and compelling narrative.
There’s some cool looking beast transformations, I’ll give them that. It still looks 100% lifeless tho. The monotone voice acting and plodding line delivery seem to be even more apparent after 2 seasons; almost to the point that it’s making fun of itself.
Can't wait for BW Megatron to say "Yes, most Excellent" with the flattest inflection once, and that'll be the closest he gets to his original characterisation too.
That’s really gonna sting, knowing all these characters were once lively and entertaining, and had dedicated voice actors who were given great direction and room to really make something of their parts - but they’re now reduced to generic slooooow edgy table reads. It completely deflates any excitement I might have seeing the BW characters in action again.
