with jolt, i dont think the problem is the backpack itself but the lack of spine detail like the dotm and rotf have, i still think it looks great, also, its not like dotm ss sideswipe didnt have a backpack to begin with, what we need is a good side to side comparison
If the Tampa Bay Lightning win the Stanley Cup again I might pick up a Sideswipe and paint it in blue and white with Lightning bolts on it. I shall call him "Bolt", he will hang out with "Jolt" (Who will get Jolt cola painted on him). Sideswipe has those skating feet, so a hockey player look could work with him. And I might even make a hockey stick for him. Go Bolts!
Sideswipe is looking an awful lot like the original ROTF Sideswipe, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. The alt mode has fewer panel lines. The hood in particular looks a lot better. I may bite.
Jolt is literally a nobody, throwaway character. I use "character" figuratively as he really isn't. Just a moving macguffin to move the plot of ROTF to it's finale. That being said it makes me not give a single shit how accurate he is. As a figure he looks pretty okay and interesting enough for me to get. I'll argue accuracy for actual characters that get more than a few seconds on screen. Nobody characters don't need this much discussion over.
Jolt is the savior of the Bayverse. Without him to combine Jetfire and Prime, The Fallen would've turned on the Harvester and destroyed the Sun. Have some respect for our hero Jolt.
Lol, could've been anyone. Could've been Ratchet. Could've been, I dunno, a guy named Electro. Literally from a technical standpoint Jolt was a last minute addition to the script. No lines, only appearing in comics months afterwards, and while he does get a name shout-out he appears in all of three or four scenes. Yeah no. Jokes aside Jolt is a literal nobody. A Macguffin to drive the plot, nothing more, nothing less.
Jolt being a good or bad or a nothing character is one thing, but the fact stands that we have already gotten two frankly pretty fun toys of Jolt based on early concept art, so we were still missing a Jolt toy that actualy looked like his actual final 3D Model, so it is nice to "finally have that" on a toy that is no doubt the last toy Jolt will ever ever ever ever ever get.
In the comic and novelization, the combination is all the work of Ratchet, actually, although to be fair instant combination due to electrification seems like it's a lot cooler on screen compared to Ratchet slowly welding everything on.
After reading various similar comments, HasTak whispers, "Hold My Energon", with a devious smirk. HasTak 2024- We give you MPM Jolt and MPM Dino.
