Hey! I have had this metroplex since I was 11, and well 5 years back his swivel in his arm stopped entirely, it had no more clicks, pass by a few years later to now

If you remove that screw, does the gear come off? It would help to see the extent of the part and damage.

If it's just that one piece that broke, I'd imagine you could commission someone to render a replacement and 3-D print it.

Yeah, if that disc comes off at that screw it would be pretty simple to make a copy.

Aside from that, if you have all the chunks, you might be able to glue them all together with something like a big washer glued over the top of it to secure it all - if there's room to fit one.

I think your best option is to try to have a replacement part 3D printed. It's not a very detailed piece, so the precision of having to measure and recreate the part digitally shouldn't matter much. The most common types of 3D printed material should also be a good match for the ABS plastic that it's replacing.

The alternate fix I can think of would be to create a splint for the gear. Go to a hardware store, find some thin stock sheet metal. Superglue the gear back together, then use it to measure and cut the sheet metal to a small disc shape that matches the size of the gear minus the teeth. Then drill some small holes in a pattern so that 2-3 holes land on each of the fractured gear pieces. Then drill through the gear using the sheet metal disc as a stencil. Then take some small, finely threaded screws and attach the sheet metal to the reassembled gear. You could also potentially use small pins, even paperclip stock, with some more superglue instead of screws if you drill small enough holes. This way the sheet metal is reinforcing the gear, as opposed to only the super glue which would likely fail with enough play.

This isn't a super straightforward fix, and depends on your technical ability and if the joint can actually accommodate the extra thickness of the sheet metal and screws. There may also be some movement between the gear pieces and the sheet metal, so you might even need to sandwich the gear between two pieces of sheet metal.

Then what is the point of the screw? If it isn't holding that disc on, then what does it do?

If it is one piece copying that whole chunk won't be easy, you're better off repairing it.

    Here is attempt one.

smoothering the gear in plastiweld PLUS smart glue infrared, to re establish a frame, although the issue is that since the gear and elbow joint were one piece, the screw is been bored, it won’t stay anymore.

I pi plastic weld on the screw to when it is out back into the slot, it will stay there.
    A02E6A8B-9F6F-4B38-BFF0-F63A9C9A0967.jpeg
the entire joint, had many issues joking the form of the gear so I put some permanent cardboard with plastic weld on it to hold the joint up and together, also put some polish on the outer ratchet frame so it will be easier for a click to establish

once all this is dry, I will put a metal sheet under the gear and apply wd-40 to the gear because metroplex’s joints are lubed by hasbro I figured out

You need to let the glue dry before you put it all back together - glue has to set.

Once the glue dries and you want to add a bit of reinforcement there does seem to be enough space that you could add a layer of milliput. It'll start soft but once it's dry it's rock solid.
