Hmm, well, at least you tried Samaul. The downside of using AJP really is things like this.

Question: If they have a policy of sending a free replacement figure before expecting the customer to send back the original one, what's to stop them keeping both? Would Amazon have a right to put a charge on your stored payment method or would they be out of pocket?
(Not that I would encourage this sort of thing, but it just stood out to me they're possibly leaving themselves open to that).

I do still REALLY want a smiling face for my Star Cream as it's perfect for him, but I'm not sure if I want the hassle of going back and forth with their customer service like you did, waiting on the postage refund, and hoping the new figure they send has no issues. Especially if they were to ask that I send it back before they send a new one. My actual figure is seemingly issue free barring the missing smiley face, so I don't want to give that up.

There surely has to be more people with two smiley faces, otherwise where would all the the surplus have ended up that should have been packaged for people that have two stoic faces instead

Tried the coronation set and nothing fits. Crown too small. Should armor/pads - tabs are too thick and obviously the cape needs an adaptor that clips onto where the stand adaptor goes in the back.

Curious, were you able to get the shoulder things to tab in without mods?

In a roundabout way good news, as that MP11 crown can be improved upon and this confirms it'll be a newly moulded piece.

Would like to see the rubies be trans red plastic with a little bit of light piping instead of flat red paint.

After 30 days if they havent received the original they charge you for the replacement, part of the conditions in getting a return/replacement.

Perfect would be if Hasbro offered CS like Takara, but its part of the risk in importing something not serviced or covered in your area.

I've requested a replacement for mine, to see if the air intakes are straight on that one. One is really bend outward and it annoys me. Going to receive it this week.

Not to add insult to injury but the source where I buy my mecha stuff in Japan, does allow replacement of just a part that are either missing or damaged. Beast Convoy aka Optimus Primal, I got a damaged face (lips had a paint chipped off) replaced and my Megahouse Actibuilder SSS Gridman had a missing helmet which was replaced (another JP store). I did emphasize that I was not after a refund and just wanted to replace the missing or damaged part.

Amazon? Forget it. Amazon USA, I was requesting for a Classic Filmation She-Ra complete series DVD insert replacement ( the Effing insert was folded into a 2 inch origami rectangle  , my first order, Classic He-man had no issues), they insisted I return the whole set! :banghead:

Must be their SOP on all stocks.:cry

I sorta have? Disassembly required and takes screw removal. It’s a bit annoying and requires a bit of care, but I can take pictures later when I can. I haven’t actually attempted to tighten the knees yet though, so I’d have to check if a simple twist of a screw is enough.

It's been a long, bumpy and strange road, but it's awesome to finally have a Starscream that's highly playable, show accurate, and that addresses many of the issues from the older moulds (the fragile wing joints, the poor lower torso movement etc.)!!

I've had no major QC issues so far, though I would caution against using his ab crunch excessively as I've had a few small paint chips on the faux cockpit. Thankfully it can't really be seen when he's fully transformed.

I just can't stop messing with this guy and I hope everyone's enjoying him too (and those who're having issues, to get them addressed soon)!

(Just a little silly, random thing I felt like doing)

It says on their site you have to if it's coming from outside Japan. Is this not true?

EDIT - n/m, just saw thr other post.

Oj well, already sold mine at a loss. Not sure how much thr regular shipping would be to Japan anyway. DHL quote was $300 CAD, more than the figure cost.

If you don't mind my asking, who did you buy from that's able to source parts so easily? Myra at Agabyss asked me for photos and said they would be able to secure replacement parts, but I responded to her email within minutes and haven't heard anything back since. I'm definitely trying to figure out which retailers can and can't help in order to inform any future MP purchases.

I’m not sure if this helps, but from my experience Amazon Japan sends you the second figure first, you can swap out parts, then send the original back. Also, if you push them enough, they actually can reimburse your full shipping fee. The issue is that the currency transaction fee would not be reimbursed. The only seller I know who sends individual replacement parts was ami ami, but they didn’t do it for my lio convoy - had to send that one back - they only sent replacement for my Hot Toys Thanos. Thing is, I have recieved customs fees every time I ordered something from ami ami (and they aren’t negligible either - each time would cost almost half the figure’s price, sometimes it even costs as much as the figure) However for Amazon Japan, a 500jpy fee (at least for me) covers all customs. As for the 12000 jpy limit, if you didn’t want to push them, they rest is given in Amazon gift card, which has no losses from the currency conversion rate. (I think it was stated in your post, but I thought I’d put it here anyways). I’m not sure if we should expect replacement parts at times, it’s just a privilege some retailers and companies provide. I don’t remember the last time I’ve had an individual part replaced by a retail store. I’d have similar expectations online as well.

I’d like to say I’m not trying to bash or anything! Just wanted to give my two cents (while I wait for my second vaccine shot, so this might be a bit rushed) I think TT should responsible for replacement parts in the end.

not sure if I understand it wrong, but I think it isn’t individually sourcing parts, I think they are getting a whole new figure?

Yeah see the thing is you might get a second copy that has the same problem re. the faces. And the guy in the chat says that if you get two with QC issues then they tend to just give you a full refund, idk how strict they are on that.

I actually did think about not returning the second one. What can they do? Just call your bank and tell them to block any payments from Amazon Japan. But you wouldn't be able to use Amazon Japan ever again, and they might even somehow try to block your Amazon accounts in other countries, who knows. It's tempting :lol

But yup, they send you the replacement first, that's how it works. So you can just take the face from the replacement and send the replacement back with your extra neutral face.

Yeah there should be a surplus of smiling faces but so far it seems rarer to get two of them! Maybe they were less likely to fuck up the face that's actually on the figure.

Yeah it's just Amazon's policy. Crazy that they'd rather pay for people's DHL shipping than open up some boxes. Just wild, really.

Yeah, I was skimming for anyone mentioning parts instead of reading the whole thing. You're absolutely right.

Oh as for the second figure, I think they set it up as a preorder. They ship it to you while having a charge impending on your account, and if you don’t send it back on time, they charge you. If you find a way with your bank to cancel the impending payment, then I’m not sure what happens. Nor do I want to know really.

As for the shipping a new package thing, I was wondering what companies have you gone through that provided individual parts for an official TT figure? I would be interested in a retailer that provides that service though.

Sorry bud I missed this first post of yours while I was typing out my original reply at the top of this page.

Well I'm not sure if they'll reimburse you the full shipping fee for DHL since it seems to be above 12,000 Yen they won't reimburse directly, but instead will give you store credit. Which hey, is fine for people ordering MPs regularly from Amazon Japan.

For a company like TT which only offers after sales support to customers in Japan, the onus has to be on the retailers to help out the customers in case of missing/faulty parts. Now, in what form that takes I'm not sure. I don't know what kind of deal these online retailers have with TT or Hasbro Asia in terms of sourcing replacement parts. I would actually love to hear from retailers on this topic.

I've reached out to several online companies in the past when I had issues with missing pieces in MPs, or even was just looking for spare parts for customising, and The Chosen Prime were one company that was willing to help out, even though I didn't order it directly from them. I think BBTS can help customers out if you order the figure from them too.

I don't know if these companies are helpng by opening up a MISB figure and taking out the useful parts, or otherwise? Actually maybe @HolyCulture can chip in here on his experience with MP-36+, was that from Robot Kingdom you got a replacement body man?

How are you getting the feet pushed up so far into the legs? Mine look very different and the grey part on top of the feet is visible under the shin. I’m starting to wonder if my loose ankles are mis-assembled or something, but I don’t see how. It looks like there’s only one way to assemble them.

My first coat of Kiki did nothing for the ankles. I’m going to try a second coat today. I really don’t understand why the ankles are so loose. The rivets are installed all the way and there is no gap between the parts. To the point where it’s hard to get the Kiki into the joint. It’s totally flush. I’m starting to wonder if it’s something like the left and right ankles are not actually symmetrical and when you swap them it makes the joint loose somehow.

I haven’t finished the thread yet but could you please post pics of the crack? I inspected mine and found no cracks in the ankles, but maybe I don’t know what it’s supposed to look like and it’s actually damaged?
