Yeah, classic Amazon delivery. I can't imagine the pain of MOC collectors who have to resort to online purchasing. They're gambling every time and hoping that the card isn't mauled by the time they receive their order.
I think something is happening when these arrive in-warehouse. My Ninjor came in a perfectly adequate box, but it looked beat to hell BEFORE it was shipped. Of course, half the time, the package is an envelope and the toy also gets beat up DURING shipping, so who knows. Maybe it's a second beating for those figures.
Man-E-Faces is back up on Amazon for $14.99! Hopefully I'll catch the other 3 from Wave 2 for that price at some point too. EDIT: The $14.99 ones have sold out again!
Their cries make me stronger. They've been putting mine in the long skinny boxes. Got mine, last week. Put her on the shelf and haven't touched her. I got LOP Mer-Man, today. Faker never shipped.
I just order as little as possible from Scamazon and ThirdWorldMart (can't help exclusives). For awhile, ordering two or three helped ensure a box, but they have no compunction about shipping as many as four separate bags lately.
No what is happening is they keep shipping out returned figures due to the packaging, probably hoping someone doesn't care about the cardback.
Maybe I missed it, but the only MOTU Origins I saw at the Middleton store last Wednesday were He-Man, Skeletors, Battle Cat and Panthor. A bunch of 4 pack minis, and some of the Mega Construx sets, too. I might check back next Friday (the store is only open Monday, Wednesday and Friday) and see if they got more in. The store is part of the Pleasant Company/American Girl campus, which Mattel acquired a few years back.
I wouldn't have minded the 2000x Evil-Lyn being an deluxe release if it meant her coming with her un-helmeted head with the crop-cut, some spell-casting hands, and a cape.
Sure, all these running changes certainly prey upon the collector who feels they have to have that slightly different version, but in the end it’s the collector making the decision that what they have doesn’t satisfy them any longer and they want the newer version. I’m not going to fault any manufacturer for the choice the consumer makes. case in point, I had the slender handled Sky Sled in my hand ready to buy it, then halfway to the checkout changed my mind. I decided having a sword my figure could hold better wouldn’t change my life one bit and wasn’t worth the expenditure. But I’m happy for those that feel that it makes them happy to have it that Mattel made that change and gave them the option.
I wonder why Mattel haven't thought of an accessory pack with skeletor, he-man,& prince Adam heads? Then it would cause people like me to buy a peg warming he-man to fit that head, a way to getting some of that stuff moving instead of a new run. Double dipping won't fix the old stuff hanging around. Include the weapons missing from castle greyskull & a Trident for Merman.
Just discovered that I am only an hour away from one of the Mattel stores. Unfortunately I only need the new Evil-Lyn from the new wave so not going to make the trip just for her. But when the next wave hits, I might make a trip out there.
