Something told me I should have stopped there on my way by this afternoon around 2:30 but thought there was not reason too. Better start heeding my intuition from now on.

First time Manassas has been first at anything.

in RVA news, went to the Walmart on Sheila Lane, they still have 4 leader Grimlocks if anyone still needs one, and 2 leader dino megatrons. The target right near there (forest ave? maybe?) had 3 86 jazzes and 4 Blurrs. I bought one jazz so there are two left.

I walked up to an associate and asked them to check in the warehouse. In person is the only reliable method. Their handhelds can check other stores stock within the district. I checked Gainesville first and found out Merrifield and Sterling showed stock. Went and checked in person. Have a feeling they had them and just did not feel like pulling them; Target employees have virtually zero work ethic. There are some that do but they are extremely rare.

The Mosaic Target's toy section has become quite neglected. It was pretty good last year but now it seems like there was a change in personnel or something.

Chantilly Walmart: Picked up a Deeseus Army Drone, the only Transformer-related item in the entire toy aisle

    Chantilly Target: squat

Dulles Landing Walmart: RED Arcee and RED Cheetor, 2 each of Kingdom Ultra Magnus and BW Megatron, a few Kingdom Dracodons, 1 Netflix Cheetor, 1 Netflix Deep Cover

I was one at one point. We really need to pay workers better, especially megacorporations that have literally no excuse lol

yeah I seen that a lot lately. Especially if they show they have stock! They say check back later to see if it is in on the shelf. The crazy thing is they will be put out an hour or two after you left. Then you may not get one

Neer do u ever consider other factors or u just jump to they don't have good work ethic when u don't get what you want like a karen?

The figures may still be on the truck.
The figures may be in the wrong place in n the back (most likely reason) ie if the pad say bay 12b and they are not there and were just placed where ever they could be anywhere in the warehouse. You espect that associate to comb through thousands of boxes and look through every bay nook and cranny. Which btw isn't a simple 5 min task for something that for example.
The figures could be missing. Stuff like this happens all the fing time.
The figures could be out in the store but haven't been scanned out.(another likely reason) meaning they could be ANYWHERE in the store. And seeing how people in this forum like to hide items for other collectors ( don't have a problem with this personally) its not our fault if you place something that was supposed to be on asile and hid it with thw barbies or in the grates. Alot of us are hard workers and willing to help help but we also have alot of shit to do and guess what NOTHING GOES ACCORDING TO PLAN. so getting mad at us and calling us lazy or whatever for stuff outta our control isn't helping. Also the one thing no one ever considers.
The figuers could have been stolen. Pads, bricksheet online inventory don't account for this. Which btw in my store happens alot especially with marvel figures.

So please stop jumping to o they just lazy and don't care cause you couldn't get something. It just happens sometimes. Yeah it sucks and i would love to see you leave happy then cause a scene. But shit just happens.

I worked for Target in my past (way past but past). Back when people valued their jobs more than they do now. Back in those days the warehouse was spotless and properly maintained. Everything was where it was supposed to be so inventory was accurate (a foreign concept in Target stores now it would seem). If something was not in its prescribed spot it was flexed to an adjacent bin/stocking riser and a descriptor was placed telling were to look (in the days before fancy hand held devices did the work for you). Just throwing stuff "were ever it fits" is just beyond lazy. If the warehouse employees' were doing their jobs everything would where it is supposed to be. Missing merchandise in the warehouse/store is subject for immediate termination of the sections manager and the asset protection personnel. Internal theft should be at zero. If an item is still on the truck then it should not be part of the store inventory. Once it is scanned into the store inventory it should be either placed in its proper warehouse location or placed on a merchandising cart for the appropriate department to push to the floor. If an item is not on the floor but shows "in stock" then it should take less than five minutes to check the two proper places for it - a no brainer. If someone walks out of a store with a box the size of a leader figure (employee or customer) that store should be immediately closed and the entire staff terminated. That is absolutely intolerable. Yes they could be in shopping carts waiting for purchase; but not likely 2 or 3 cases worth. Collector's are generally purpose focused buyers. Get in for what you want and get out. Not too many end up doing additional shopping. Asset protection should be doing their job and watching for what we called ditch duggers back in the day where stuff is hidden by customers in places were they are not supposed to be and directing associates to where it is to be re-merchandised back to the correct shelf position. Plus if the associates are doing their jobs they would find said merchandise within 30 minutes or so of where it is hidden and put back where is belongs. Associates are still supposed to be maintaining their departments. That means (another old term I am sure) laser lining constantly; when doing so a foreign item will be quickly found. If something the size of the marvel figure packaging is getting out of the store unpaid for then asset protection is not doing their jobs. If customers are opening items and ditching the packaging then that should be caught 100% of the time - no excuses for that. Putting items on hold for customer's was terminated back when COVID hit so they are not at customer service; if they are then that is a easy termination for violating the rules/directives from corporate. The only items that should be at customer service are returns and web orders. Slug and Grindor are not web order qualified at this time so that is not an excuse. Target's website is a out of date disgrace when it comes to inventory levels and at least in Virginia the illegal "street dates" and release dates being criminally inaccurate but that is another conversation. Target stopped uploading inventory data to Brickseek and Popfindr to hide the fact that they cannot control inventory in their stores. Managers' and associates' are not doing their jobs as outlined in the employee handbook. Target's corporate ACT teams are not doing their job of spot checking stores at random and unscheduled to make sure they are being held to the corporate standard; I was part of that team once upon a time. Stores are no longer under staffed as Target is hiring in droves; no excuses. Training a floor position is a 3 day deal before they are up to speed; they may not be fast at it but they "should" know what they are doing; if the training is sub standard then that is a failing of store management and they should be re-evaluated in keeping said position. Target was spectacular for decades but now that the older associates are moving on to retirement or a slower pace of employment the new associates taking their place just want the money/pay check and not work for it. The word "Millennial" gets thrown around a lot in the news when describing the current workforce and those entering the work force as being lazy and ungrateful especially when it comes to blue collar workers. I see this everyday. For every person in that demographic that has a work ethic (they honestly are grateful to have that job) there are a dozen or more that just show up to get paid but do nothing to earn it (there are hundreds of thousands that do not have a job that would take it from them without a moments hesitation). I would have never thought that I would see the day where Walmart surpasses Target in employee quality. Truth hurts. What store are you employed at? I would like to avoid it.

With Merrifield I could see the screen on the handheld and it clearly showed the inventory being in warehouse location AS-12 which I believe is a flex location in the warehouse these days. The associate (most likely a new trainee) said they would go look in the warehouse and employed the help of another associate for help. They both proceeded to head for the warehouse where they proceeded to have a conversation with three other associates just inside the warehouse doors for 4 minutes and then proceed to come back to tell me they could not find them. Yes, I followed them to see what they would do. They did not do their jobs. They do not deserve to have them. In the defense of the "possible" trainee they were doing what they were told - peer pressure - and should be placed with another trainer for retraining? The other one - zero excuses.

For Sterling it was a similar experience of them not doing their job by refusing to do a warehouse pull. The hand held showed a warehouse location but the associate lied and said the items were not in stock and to check back in September when the next scheduled batch were due on the truck.

If Target does not want to be "customer focused" anymore then maybe their time in the market has passed and they should remove themselves from the market.
