It looks better than I thought - and not just cos I'm buzzing off the usual YouTube lots backlash towards certain plot elements - but I'm still treating it as its own thing regardless.

The original He-Man was a fucking stupid and silly romp about big thighed men throwing each other around in the mud accompanied by pertinent advice about not trusting nonces and staying off the drugs. This isn't. I know it's a sequel to that series but I also know that I'm holding that ideas head underwater until the bubbles stop rising to the surface. This is of course, to enjoy it.

    Salty tonight.

I've watched the Machinima Prime Trilogy, and WFC thus far - I have the feeling this will be an utter joyride of pure proper comic book style adventure because, Batman weeing himself aside (and I get what Smith was trying to do there, a bit of Bats himself acknowledging "He's human after all" to a protege misfiring because it's a bit too Smith scatological humorous), Smith actually takes joy in this sort of stuff, and I'll be surprised if his turn to a Grimdark plot doesn't have an utterly triumphant ending. Also actually taking the split power sword as a plot point? That's a neat bit of unifying all the lore that DeSantos couldn't manage IMHO.
This might even make me want to watch the OG He-Man again, until I do and see the first childish clear moral lesson goofy wizard/scientist character I ran into last time I tried rewatching OG HMATMOTU.

It feels like next trilogy is their chance to finish the triple changers, they will have plenty of voyager slots. Rumour is Blitzwing is going to be a leader, though not sure how they would do Octane. Sandstorm is perfect for a voyager ("I am sandstorm.....") Ahem sorry might boosh moment. Broadside that's one I have not idea whether he is voyager, leader or more...

    +1 on all of these

I'm wondering if they could G1 ify Windblade or keep her more Caminus style, either way she's become part of the core TF group of bots for me, right next to Bumblebee

In the context of following the battery discussion of marital aids, you really should have said 'torches'. I totally misread that and thought you were being really open about your top of the range personal helper! :lol

New revelation trailer is amazing. And it's got my boi Stinkor in it!

When a 'netflix transformers anime' was announced, this was the sort of thing I had in mind.

Hey everyone! Sorry I've not been about as much but that's because I'm shooting lots. For a long time I've been trying to break a performance plateau, 550/600 on a Portsmouth round. A couple weeks ago I finally did it, scored 559/600! Because of this I bought myself a new bit of kit... This is Boomer now...

    20210629_194011.jpg

Latest addition are new carbon/wood core limbs, 40 lbs on my fingers at full draw! I picked those particular limbs for many reasons...

    i) Wood core is more forgiving than a foam core. Plus 'softer' release.
ii) These intermediate limbs were £245 new in 2018, but discounted to £80!
iii) The graphics match my riser (so it's all colour coordinated)
iv) These were the shops LAST in my limb size and draw weight! This limbs were my density...

Before I upgraded them though, the last time I shot with my entry level Prelude limbs (wood/fibreglass) was at a club competition last Sunday (Outdoor season! Finally!), a Short Metric where you shoot 36 arrows at an 80cm target at 50m, then another 36 shots at the same target from 30m. Scored 565/720 which doesn't mean anything to me (never shot this round before in competition) but I came 2nd out of everyone! Plus I know I can do better then that...

Anyway thanks to the new limbs, which are slightly heavier in draw weight than the old limbs as well as a totally different make/material the bow will need retuning and my performance will suffer for a bit. Hopefully though when I'm stronger and the bow is properly tweaked I should be able to shoot better! Here's hoping eh? Next Short Metric I'm booked to do is in August... got a couple of months to practice!

    Oh, and on topic...

Anyone else not spotting any differences other than the hand? Wonder if the shade of blue is different perhaps and it's just the image quality

I'm geeky enough to have listened to some of the DVD commentaries and read a few books, I was amazed at the impact the show had on parents and kids. Like I'd no idea.

Psychologists actually went over the scripts and they were changed appropriately. The end moral bit saw Filmation and the local networks get lots of praising letters from parents. Including those of a young girl who they knew had suffered sexual abuse but only gave the details when He-Man said it was better to tell someone. Others talked of bullying, kids learning to walk away, and so on.

One of the other stories was from (I think) New Jersey, where a bunch of Mob wives with their big hair, expensive jewellery and fur coats protested the removal of MOTU from the syndicated schedule. They wanted the big strong guy who didn't go to prison as an example for their kids. Needless to say they got their way lmao.

The cheesy segment is baked into cartoons today, but back then it actually created a bond with whoever was watching. At conventions decades later the showrunners would get people admitting that just one scene made them realise what was happening, including parents. It's why loads of other shows from that time did the same thing. Hell, Jerry Springer brought it back :lol

Anyway, as someone approaching 40 I care not a jot if it's connected to the old show! I just want it to take the cues and be good.

Hard to tell due to the quality but maybe there's no red detailing on the head? It could be angle/shading but I'd expect his eyes or the dot detail on his head cannon to pop a bit more if they were red.

Couldn't believe this when it was revealed!! Weirdly I was only talking about The Captain the other day and saying he'd be a great fit for a Deadpool flick - they could physically bleep his name out and it would fit right in with the overall humour. Hoping for an easier-to-get rerelease of Elsa Bloodstone and new Aaron Stack and Boom Boom figures now...and Fin Fang Foom in roomy purple pants, of course.

SO, apparently, the only difference between Scourge and the Sweeps is that they're all cackhanded southpaws. I'd have thought they'd have at least only given Scourge the fancy nail job!

The only difference is his open hand is on the other side.

I will be honest, I think this is a great chance for collectors who miss out on Scourge due to short packs or people buying like 3 of them (when they were told not to), and it's very likey Scourge's aftermarket is going to drop like a rock now a somewhat repack is comeing.

It's still there, far as I can see (!). So far I'm distinctly underwhelmed tbh!

Like everybody knew how it was gonna go but somehow you were hoping for something to stand out. Maybe they're truly hamstrung by the movie of course but even I'm thinking of skipping this one

Well that Sweep looks massively disappointing, looks like we'll be lucky if we can differentiate between the shades of blue used in the two figures - let alone adding any major differences.

I guess taking the Black Series Hoth Rebel Trooper as the benchmark for giving one figure a lot of variety was too much for Hasbro's figure budget this time round.

A tad easier to tell since the update with sharper photos.
Yeah, that's rather naff, it does make one wonder if there's an alt face with something like the Lord Fotherington-Smythe handlebar 'tache restyling from the LG Sharkticon set that's been cocked up in a similar fashion to T-Wrecks not ending up with the grimacing BW Megs head?

My wishlist for the next trilogy (preferably part one as I am impatient...)

    1. A new Windblade WFC style. Currently have the TR Windblade on my shelf and she's alright, but her legs are too blocky for her character.
    2. Thunderwing, preferably Leader Class.
    3. Overlord, I feel a Commander Class of this guy would be really cool, and a good way to have all his bells and whistles.
    4. Kind of a vanilla choice, but I'd like a repaint of Astrotrain in White and black like his toy, and a darker shade of purple Cyclonus.
    5. Tapes for the rumoured Blaster, maybe as another selects four pack?

Other then that I'm happy to just see whatever they do. Don't think I'll go for the rumoured Menasor as I spent quite a bit of money and time sourcing upgrade kits and Brake-Neck (aftermarket prices) to get the CW as I like, and he mingles pretty well style wise with the rest of my CW figures.
