The characters don't move much, look at Sky Lynx's "GRIMLOCK, ARE YOU ALL RIGHT?" moment.

I always thought "The Dweller In the Depths" had the best animation in the series.

I personally feel both had great animation. Call's animation may have been a bit on the static side, but whenever there was character movement it looked quite fluid and there was detail all over the place.

Dweller does have some jittery parts in some places, but the animation is filled with an unusual amount of emotion and facial expression.

Just the goons duct taping her face and DRAGGING HER OFF SCREEN makes for one of the most WTF moment in G1.

Even in the 80s that was obviously rapey and bizzare and uncalled for. These days it's just completely unacceptable it would not be released.

Watch out for BOT getting unreleased in future streaming packages.

Like I said earlier, "Carnage In C-Minor" is funny. "B.O.T." is just... unpleasant.

While B.O.T. was definitely a poor episode, I found Nightmare Planet to be the worst.
It seemed like a bunch of 'spooky Halloween ideas' just joined together with little sense or cohesion.

These 2 are very interesting points. Both those eps weren't the Worst eps, but B.O.T. was terribly disappointing as the S2 finale, while Autobot Spike was also disappointing as the S2 opener.

Alot of stuff is rapey out of context. In context, that was not uncommon in the 80's.
A comedy scene (even bad comedy) would easily end with a loudmouth character being shut up somehow (by duct tape or otherwise), or dragged off the screen, ...or both.

I'm sure 3's Company musta had similar scenes. Like Jack getting dinner dumped on his head, then a carrot stuffed in his mouth to shut him up.

I personally liked Nightmare Planet. It was flawed, but I least I had fun with it, unlike... *sigh* Fight or Flee.

It's not nearly as bad as certain Season 3 episodes. I don't hate this episode.

Does that one kid look kind of like Christian Slater to anyone else?

Carnage is fun IMO. It's just badly animated.

Fight or Flee. At least B.O.T. horribleness makes it funny. Fight or Flee is just no fun at all.

That wasn't a "fun" ep, but I still liked Fight or Flee better than most eps I'd qualify as 'Not Good'.
It was a sad episode and Rodimus Prime was unusually insensitive! But it was nice to have an origin for Sandstorm (even if the ep aired out of order), and special 'repaint' 1-off characters like Paradron Medic.

I liked the backstory of his ancestors who fleed Cybertron, and I loved the dynamic between Galvatron & Ultra Magnus. And despite Galvatron's insanity, his intelligence was highlighted when he realized Magnus wasn't a coward.

I like the episode, too. Cyclonus and Scourge have a lot of fun moments in the first act. And Galvatron is in top form... I wish the cut scenes had been kept in. But yeah, I like how his intelligence is highlighted. Just because he's off his rocker doesn't mean he's stupid.

I didn't like it at all. All the characters felt out-of-character, the actors sound uncharacteristically bored (like they don't like the script either, whereas in all the other episodes, the actors seem to always bring their A-game), voices are misplaced (Shrapnel speaks, but Soundwave is there instead, and Brawl starts talking like one of the Predacons when he and Headstrong are manning the cannon) and some really unfinished looking animation (almost the same as Nightmare Planet). If it wasn't like that, I would feel it would be a half-decent, but as it stands, it just doesn't thrill me.
