I survived Corvid. I don't know how my odds were, nor do I wish to know. But It was a pretty grim two weeks.

I got it from someone in the office, and was flat out - waltzing between pain and delirium. The infection caused pneumonia which brought phlegm in my lungs, so I needed an injection of saline into my body every day for 6-7 days to wash it out. Then came constipation complications, and now loss of appetite. I'm still alive, and recovered enough, but it's a long road and it's not over yet.

If anyone has any corvid survivor tale to post here, please feel welcome.

Aren't corvids part of a family of birds such as the magpies?

I got attacked by a crow once. He put a gun in my face an demanded I give him my wallet. I said I couldn't because I don't take my wallet with me when I do pilates. He called me a bitch and fired it next to my face. He had a shirt on that said "no fat chicks" (as in baby birds) and the police never found him.

Okay, so... got to ask... was this an intentional misspelling? Because when I saw the thread title I thought you meant you were attacked by a flock of crows... but reading your post makes it seem like you caught COVID (sorry to hear btw, it sucks) yet you continued to use corvid each time. Which, I'm just not sure why you would seemingly deliberately use corvid is all. It's not like COVID is blocked or something.

I had it a 14 months ago, had cold-like symptoms for a week, felt better for a day or two then pneumonia knocked me on my ass for another week. That week sucked, hard. Never been that sick in my life. Got over it with some antibiotics, no lasting effects that I can tell. Wife and kid got it right after I did, wife had zero symptoms at any time, kid was barely sick. Lucky them.

Truth be told I was glad to get it early and out of the way - after that I didn't worry much about catching it again, even though antibodies weren't proven at that point I knew the whole family very likely had them and was somewhat protected.

lol no worries, I understand why since there were some rules about discussing the subject early on, though I don't think this subject would breach them. I got used to years of YouTubers making up their own words for years out of fear of losing out on ad revenue money, though if hear the words "chesticals" when referring to a part of an anatomy one more time, I'm just going to roll my eyes up and sigh.

I survived a robin swooping at my head. Its nest was nearby or something.

It also kept crapping all over my car.

I was feeding my squirrel once and a seagull tried to steal his bread. My squirrel was smart. He put the bread down, took a few steps back and when the seagull tried to steal it, my squirrel jumped on it and attacked it away! Pulled the "no u" card perfectly.

I had COVID back at the end of March. I was mostly asymptomatic though. I knew i was sick because i was nauseated one night, then no appetite for a few days and diarrhea another. Got tested, came back positive. Two weeks off work. Then my vacation week. The quarantine was a pain though.

I don't think we can speak of this subject. No I'm not reporting it but it's a shame really. I like to have a discussion of this.

I have been exposed to multiple cases, in a couple instances for extended periods of time in enclosed spaces with no social distancing or masks or anything, and I have never gotten sick and never tested positive. I think I am almost certainly naturally immune from it, and I think there are many people who are likewise naturally immune.

That said, as long as I am making Shrek puns, you know I am positive for corogrevirus!

It's weird, I've heard of stories of spouses sleeping in the same freaking bed, and 1 getting it and the other not. And I am like we truly don't know how it picks people it spreads too. They were saying it's all about exposure time and distance, explain people 1 foot apart for 8 hours + a day for possibly 2 weeks before one was positive.

I have heard of similar things myself. A husband gets it, but his daughters and wife don't, despite sharing everything.

There so many factors that go into immunity or resistance. Genetics (the biggest genetic factors found so far are genes inherited from Neanderthals; humans from places outside Africa are typically 1-3% Neanderthals, and some Neanderthal genes offer resistance, and others weaknesses. Similar coronaviruses were almost certainly circulating in our ancestors at times tens and hundreds of thousands of years ago, hence there are probably a lot of modern humans who are genetically immune or resistant. There was even some recent research showing such an event happened 20,000 years ago.). Infection with other coronaviruses in the past. The strength of one's innate immune system. Perhaps even things like having certain allergies. There are probably many other factors nobody has realized.

I don't want to get into it too much for obvious reasons, but I will say this is not a one-size-fits-all virus.
