Yup, that was the appealing factor, but bandai just trew it out if the window. There are suits enough to make except another stupid striker pack.

Despite the fact that I am sort of still enjoying the Striker packs, I totally agree with this.
I'd rather them give me other suits than more Striker packs.

Alright, I just bit my tongue and PO'd the strike rouge. I have literally 0 knowledge on gundam besides the fact that the mechs look cool, but i'm still stoked. I've been silently reading this thread for years now and I remember a lot of people wanting a strike rouge, is there any significance to this model or do people just want it because it was a repaint of the regular aile strike body back when that was announced?

Literally bought it because I have the regular strike with the sword, lightning and aile striker packs (looking for a launcher but doubt i'll ever find one for a good price) and thought it'd be a cool pairing, and am just a sucker for magenta/whatever that shade of pinkish white that is.

I swear man, I tend to stay away from metal build because it keeps turning into a rabbit hole that I have a hard time climbing out of. Thought the strike with the 3 packs would be the grail for me and that I could just stop at 1 but here we are.

The Strike Rouge is an in-story mech that is a recolor of the Strike (so two separate Mobile Suits), so it's not entirely random, and it does exist in canon, piloted by another character.

What I'm impressed at is how deep you've gotten yourself on Metal Builds despite saying you have zero knowledge about Gundam. :D

Full cloth was not as difficult to put together as I was expecting. Looking forward to the X-3.

See the thing is, I'm a sucker for robots. Been a transformers fan since I was a kid and never got out of the hobby. I first found out about metal build when the strike freedom was new, and that caught my curiosity because "hey look a sick looking robot. I want it.". Over the years it's kind of been a back and forth of "Should I get that? Damn that's expensive. Nah the price will only go up. What about the other things you want to collect?".

I have only bought 3 metal builds so far: the freedom, the f91 + upgrade pack, and the strike + striker packs. Those were not easy purchases to make because I go in each time thinking "this is the one I want, I don't need the rest" and then it spirals and I end up spending hours searching for deals in the aftermarket. I recently sold the freedom and am intending to sell the f91 because I always had the intention for the strike to be the only metal build gundam I own (simply because it looked cool, not because I have any emotional attachment to the show lmao).

I don't know man, like I said, transformers is the main thing I collect, and I seldom buy them now due to me shifting towards a more display oriented collection, so that's why I said metal build has always been a rabbit hole for me. I want it, but damn those prices hurt my soul. :D

Didn’t this already get released, both together that is and later on were sold separately?

Could be a re-run with some changed decos to avoid it being the same as the previous one(s) or something. Hadn't they shown off a version of it with the Grand Slam? Did that ever come out or is that still in the wings? I'd been kind-of-sort-of counting on that coming eventually to grab a Strike to put my Lightning Striker pack on.

Do you think they'll reissue the launcher and sword striker packs if they're doing a rerun on the aile strike? Currently missing a launcher striker and am tempted to pay aftermarket prices on ebay for it so a reissue rumour would be great news

Yeah that’s the thing now isn’t it. You would that as long as they’re going to keep making/reprinting MB Strike Gundams or MS’ that are compatible with the different striker packs they’d have at least the weapon packs in some way available or if they are going to reissue this Strike Gundam it would be with the IWSP pack instead.

In any case, we’ll see what they decide to do once we get more information but if I were them and it was for the 10th anniversary, I’d release it as the Perfect Strike Gundam set.

It was a web exclusive so they won't do a straight reissue of it. Most likely gonna come again in a perfect strike set.

Interesting theories, it'd be cool to see a perfect strike set released by bandai. Is there anything missing from the perfect strike if you were to combine all three striker sets with the main strike gundam? I've heard that there are parts missing from the 3 sets in regards to the perfect strike appearance. From pictures, I can't really tell the difference probably due to the fact that i'm really a surface level gundam fan (love the designs, never got into the shows/lore) so maybe you guys could enlighten me?

If Bandai were to release only the Perfect Strike, then you'd be missing the small backpack units for the Sword and Launcher Strikers.

The existing Aile Striker can't slide the wings back and doesn't have the hardpoints to connect the arms to hold the Schwert Gewehr sword and the Agni beam cannon.
Also, there's no hardpoint to connect the battery pack rack, but I think you might be able to use the flight stand connector for it.

If you have all three packs, you can still get him to just hold the sword and cannon, without the backpack connections, but then it's not "complete".

Yay, looking forward to the Dynames Repair III. It still baffles me that Bandai is releasing that first instead of the regular Dynames. And as a general release nonetheless.
