....*googles* MORE IMPORTANTLY THERE'S A MACHO MAN HORDAK??? I don't collect the He-Man figures, but I got Roboto since I had him as a kid and I'll probably get Skeletor because Skeletor.
No because I'm worried He-Man will be as bad as Castlevania. On the other hand, Kevin Smith is writing it.
I have not seen the new wave, and I’m really looking forward to Merman (who I believe is actually the Lords of Power / prototype version). I managed to cobble together Wave 2 from various Walmart and Target trips. I always got lucky while out looking for Transformers. If I’d have spent any mental bandwidth on actually searching for those guys, I’d have lost my damn mind.
Hey all. I’m selling my standard Newage Cyclops for $65. (Retail $70 + shipping) Opened and transformed once. Everything’s perfect except for a floppy right hip flap, which I’m sure could be tightened. Really cool legends-scale figure. PM me if interested.
I wish I could found anyone from wave 2 in stores, but around where I live, I'm shocked when I see anything actually new to begin with. Like when I stumbled onto the Ram Man and Clamp Champ wave once (and bought them on sight). Actually, here's a story ffrom my travels to find a Kingdom Galvatron (or any of the new Transformers wave). Last week, I went to Coon Rapids Walmart (the one across the way from Cub Foods) and they had all kinds of new stock like the newest wave of Star Wars Black, and a number of other toylines I don't collect. They also had the flocked Panthor, which I was tempted by, but not to pay another $10 over the non-flocked version's cost... Anyway, during that time I was down the aisle, this older guy with a big gray beard comes down the aisle with a cart, stops right in front of the area where stuff Godzilla vs. Kong and G.I.Joe are, looks at his phone and is either searching online or texting someone and proceeds to fill his cart with all the new Godzilla vs. Kong toys that were on the shelf (I have no idea on if that line is popular or anything), then he comes down to the Star Wars area, grabs ALL of the new figures on the shelf, and then starts to make his way to the Transformers. Like...I dunno if I was seeing a scalper in action or what, but when I see someone filling their cart up with all these toylines... The last time I can remember ever filling a cart up with toys was many years ago, way back in the Toy Biz era of Marvel Legends when they gave Walmart a TON of exclusive figures, like an entire wave plus a number of "versus" 2-packs. I bought one of every character from the wave and one of each of the 2-packs. Because I wanted them of course...funny looking back at a lot of the Toy Biz Marvel Legends...they have not aged well at all. ************************** OH! Also forgot to mention, I found one lone Core Class Kingdom Soundwave at Northtown Target today. It came home with me. He's cute...though the feet sticking out the sides in tape mode really looks weird.
Edina Target has a ton of Kingdom deluxes and core class (not wave 3 for either size) and 2 each of Magnus and Rex Megatron.
I'm a pretty decently huge Castlevania fan, and while I think Warren Ellis has written some good stuff in the past, it's always to... slimy for me. Funny how that turned out for him. That said, I think the show smacks of the fact that Adi Shankar was pissed about not getting to do a Berserk show and tried to make Castlevania is that without understanding what made either good. They ruin basically every character and the plots are nonsensical. On top of all of that, they're making a show of a game series with some of the best game music of ALL TIME and they use NONE of it except for one really terrible cover of bloody tears, which wasn't even a song in the game that they were referencing. I'm SUPER in the minority about my opinion of that show, but like... i haaaaate it. This is the abridged version of my 4+ page rant about how they did that show dirty. Like, IMO, Transformers got shafted less in the Bay moves than Castlevania. XD Okay, we cam go back to talking about robots now: Got Gridman/Diaclone crossover (awesome) and NewAge's actionmaster thundercracker yesterday. I really like the weird box art newage does. This one was a Captain Planet homage.
That's a pretty strong accusation, but I can respect it. You're spot on about the music at the very least though. When I was watching it I was like "Oh cool! They put the music in!" - but the more I thought about it I came to the same conclusion: it wasn't that great, and it was from a different storyline. I've always really liked Castelvania, but I'm not super vested in the source material. Back-in-the-day my friend had the game, but I did not. I didn't have a SNES or N64. I only later played Super Castelvania on an emulator in college... So ignorance is bliss and I get to enjoy this psuedo-anime for what it is.
Savage Target has Ultra Magnus and BW Megatron. Nothing else exciting. I haven’t played Castlevania since the regular Nintendo. Saw a few episodes of the Netflix show but couldn’t Get into it.
You're missing out. I think they're re-releasing the GBA ones. Aria of Sorrow was my gateway to the series.
People talking about Castlevania... Man, I loved all the games...except maybe the 3D ones cause they were mostly painful to try and play legit. Especially, the N64 games. My favorites are Super Castlevania IV, Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, and Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin.
