We already have official height charts for at least Armada and Cybertron, not much need to construct new ones for those I don't think.

Where do those high quality, "neutral-pose" images of the cast come from? They clearly aren't screencaps from the show, so my wishful thinking is hoping that there are 3d files of the characters out there so that we can hunt them down and use them for 3d printing.

I read through the whole thread a while ago to try to figure out where they came from, but I got kinda lost.

Thank you, this is the biggest compliment because most of them are actually screencaps from the show! I wish what you had said was true though for 3D printing (or even animation) purposes, someone was saying that TakaraTomy was able to get a hold of them for the Masterpieces but who knows. Anyways here's the breakdown of where each character was found:
    • Most of the Season 1 character models are from show screencaps. They were found by Verno, the models flash on the bottom right corner of the screen very quickly in the episode "Before The Storm." As said in the quote above, Prime'06 used his AI software to get 4K resolution screenshots of them, which were then photoshopped to fix their faces and other little things. The "fixing" consisted of superimposed parts of the characters, which were taken from screenshots or Google Images.
    • Airazor is a special case as her "neutral pose" model was found on Google Images and color matched to Prime'06's screenshot of her.
    • S1 Megatron, Transmetal Megatron, Quickstrike, Tarantulas, Transmetal Rattrap and Transmetal Cheetor are from this official scale chart provided by Jim Sorenson earlier in the thread and shown below[IMG]
    • Transmetal Optimus Primal is from the episode "Maximal No More" and also found by Verno, its the scene where Dinobot is pondering whether to leave the Maximals in the beginning of the episode.
    • Both Rampage and Transmutate were found by GALVATOM and they are both from the episode "Transmutate," they are from early in the episode when both Silverbolt and Rampage get to Transmutate's stasis pod.
    • Silverbolt is from "The Agenda" but I'm not sure which part, I remember that he had just gone into Primal's quarters (or maybe he was just leaving) and was standing perfectly still. His legs were photoshopped to match as one of them wasn't shown fully in the shot.
    • Ravage is also from the Agenda and was found by GALVATOM, its the scene where he's talking to the Maximals right after he broke into the Axalon.
    • Optimal Optimus was found by GALVATOM and its from the episode "Optimal Situation," you can see G1 Prime's spark on the model too. Its from the scene where Optimus gets to the Axalon a little too late.
    • Depth Charge was found by GALVATOM and its from "Deep Metal," right after Depth Charge exits the QR chamber in the Maximal base.
    • Dinobot II is from the episode "Proving Grounds" where he is walking slowly towards a stuck Blackarachnia
    • Transmetal II Blackarachnia is from the BotCon promo poster with her arms photoshopped.
    • Transmetal II Megatron is from Google Images with his wings photoshopped to look closer together.
    • Tigerhawk is from the episode "Other Victories," everything but his legs are right after he shot down Megatron and he is walking towards him, and his legs are taken from a following shot a couple seconds after.
    • The Vok are also from "Other Victories," its from where they are flying towards Tarantulas.
    • The Protohumans are from various scenes on the show, Una is for sure from "Go With The Flow" as she's holding the tool that the Predacons gave her, but I don't remember the rest.
This was fun to list out, for future reference too as I'm sure I'll forget eventually. Hopefully the Beast Wars in 4K project will be out in the near future and me or someone else can take better screencaps with this guide.

    Wow. That is incredible.
The scale chart looks 100% like stock images. I have always had this thread bookmarked as a reference, and have always been impressed by it's usefulness, but didn't know you all put so much work and ingenuity into it.

Bravo. Everyone involved has really gone above and beyond to create such a great resource.

    Questions, comments, snide remarks?

    *redacted for misinformation*

3H Characters we know are the same size as their show counterparts: Ravage, Tarantulas, TM Tigatron, Rodimus. I measured Apelinq, and he's the same size as TM Primal in comparison to Tigatron, as Ravage is to Primal. From there we can back door our way into the rest of the Wreckers.

Wouldn't it be neat to have a database, with every character in fiction that you can drag and drop to compare sizes? I wonder how practical that is?

So how tall exactly are all the BW and BM characters in feet or meters?

Yeah, it would be good to have actual numbers attached to the scale that's been established.

I've been working on a project to answer that exact question. I'm just... lazy. Give me a few days to nail them down.

Also does anyone have a size for when Megatron absorbed the sparks in the BM finale and grew in size?

Sort of related, I was working on a BW Season 1 Masterpiece Scale months ago (using Verno's mm vs pixels chart as the starting point) but ended up shelving it. I didn't want give wrong "predictions" of the mm height of future MP figures, and later have certain people using that to discredit the BW chart as a whole.

Buuuuut, moving things around and using Rattrap canon height of 1.5 meters (from the show bible, according to Bob Forward himself), we get this for Season 1:
    Review_meters.png
I love how Bob Forward straight up told the fandom to use Rattrap's height to figure out how tall everyone was. It only took us 25 years ;)

Awesome! It will be amazing to have the height for all Beast Era characters based on your chart :D

I thought Rattrap was 1.8 meters tall not 1.5.

Here's what I came up with. It's just a quick and dirty photoshop job. I will be interested to see how it compares with yours. Also, here's Verno's number from the front page 5 years ago.

    Rattrap - 15.5cm (2.3m)
    Blackarachnia - 15.5cm (2.3m)
    Scorponok - 16cm [plus tail] (2.4m)
    Waspinator - 17cm (2.5m)
    Airazor - 17.5cm (2.6m)
    Tarantulas - 17.5cm (2.6m)
    Tigatron - 19cm (2.8m)
    Terrorsaur - 19cm (2.8m)
    Rhinox - 21cm (3.1m)
    Inferno - 21cm (3.1m)
    Dinobot - 22cm (3.2m)
    Megatron - 23cm (3.4m)

    scalechartmeter copy.jpg

Feel free to count for yourselves. I admit the chart is not quite advanced enough to get down to the MM, but it's as good a stab I could take at it right now.

    Blackarachnia (TM2): 1.7
    Rattrap (TM): 1.75

Average American man is 1.75M or 5'9".

This is interesting. Still fiddling around with the Wreckers/Comic guys.

    upload_2021-10-12_15-22-5.png

Not only are DOFP Airrazor and Tigatron the same height as their show counterparts, but TM Airrazor has a height of roughly 2.12M, making her just shy of S1 Optimus. According to this one panel I found. I'm still going through them.

    Edit: Math hard

I do not trust these quite as much as I trust the others, so take this as horseshoes, not canon. That first BW-only list was dead accurate. I also included Imperial measurements for the tallest, shortest, and the leaders of each series.

I'm really interested to know how big Megatron was at full size at the end of BM. He could fight Primals entire body in one so that might be something to go off of
