So a few months ago, I purchased a used Cybertron Primus. One of the spires for his planet mode looked odd, and so I checked some photos, and discovered a lot of discrepancies between the photos I could find. it seems many of the rubber spires on people's Primus toys are broken. For this comparison, I used Seibertron's gallery, since Ryan took his photos shortly after the toy was originally released back in 2005. So how is everyone's Primus holding up these days?
I've had mine for around 6 or so years at this point. Can't say I've noticed any broken spines on mine.
Mine has been fine, I've owned since new. I can't see why they would break unless hit quite hard and/or roughly handled. Still a toy so may have been played with not just displayed by a collector. However, cybertron primus doesn't do well if dropped. A few spikes broken are a lucky landing, normally a waist or arm break. Nor does it like being displayed in sunlit rooms as will yellow.
I literally never transform mine out of planet mode, so it's fine. Or it should be. Now I have to check when I get home from work.
My original from when I was a kid has some broken spires. They can break, but only if you are rough when with. Primus is a large and heavy figure so most kids(and sometimes adults) will most likely rub him around on the ground while transforming, He also turns into a ball, so he will most likely get set in his side at one point by some kid… TLK Primus actually transparent versions of the spires, but some of them are actually quite hard. They can be broken with enough force, but not being bumped into. Again, being set on his side or having his immense weight being put on the spires would break them.
