Unbelievably hyped for both of these.

 

I have to eat my words, Jolt looks solid. Goes to show sometimes you should reserve judgement before making an opinion on something you haven't seen. My other complaints i still standby though.

 

seems like there is a lot more going on with Jolt though, enough that I don't think it'll hinder the figure as much as it did Roadbuster

 

Well Jolt has some kibble clusterfuck on the back already, no surprise Hasbro tried to replicate it with some backpack kibble, it looks messy but i hope the shoulder articulation it's not too gimped by it.

Turns out it's one of his fingers! The whips replace the finger when used, like what Pixelmaster mentioned the other day.

 

While an ss deluxe may theoretically have more playvalue than a marvel legend or gi joe figure, the marvel legends has a much higher chance of actually being good. They have a formula to their figures in which they put out consistently great products that satisfy the market with very few outliers that miss the mark. The $20 price point for ss is probably the definition of a mixed bag and can either give you gold or a figure boarding on knockoff quality.

 

also to yall worried about the backpack, the only bit that's a backpack is the folded up roof. the headlights and windows are part of the model

 

I knew jolt wouldn't look that bad. He looks fantastic. How I'm not gonna lie he could use a lil bit more blue on his face but otherwise he's a definite buy. I'll be getting Sideswipe too but like I said in another thread I'm not to hyped. He's practically the same with just a roof and more paint. I'm gonna assume he doesnt come with the guns? That doesn't bother me since I have the Dotm version but still though, it'd have been nice.

As far as Jolt's kibble goes, I'd assume that he's simply not transformed correctly and that his kibble can be articulated correctly. For Sideswipe at least I think they just mainly focused on his do it mode if you get what I mean?

I love the entire front of the robot mode, but this is what happens when figures get downsized. There isn't enough robot parts to break the car bits up!!

I can guarantee that Jolt would've had a much cleaner robot mode if deluxes were still true deluxe sized!!

 

I still prefer dino as studio series figure off the year.

Well that's that. That's all our bayverse stuff for the year. We can all relax now.

 

Seeing some leaks I actually want. That's a nice change of pace.

Jolt looks great! His robo junk is a bit annoying, but looks like some of it can be moved around so maybe there's a better configuration. Still bought nonetheless.

Sideswipe I'm on the fence. He looks good, but I'm fairly content with his DOTM counterpart.

Now to wait for Que. Most likely won't see him till late next year or even 2023 is my guess. The new movie will probably the main focus in 2022.

 

Both of these guys look fantastic!

Sideswipe is an instant buy for obvious reasons.

Jolt looks really good too. Sure he has some kibble and a backpack but most of it is accurate. And the bits that aren't accurate are distributed well enough given the difficulty of translating the CGI model to plastic.

Just a shame that these had to be leaked before Hasbro could ever even acknowledge their existence.

I'm also going to be taking some photos tonight to pay my respects for a certain movie that turned 10 today.

Yeah, the downsizing has killed my interest in all the deluxes. I just don’t like any of them and they are just nothing but panels and fiddle. Makes me scared to see breakaway. I know he’s a voyager, but judging by jolt, the 10 year old deluxe could easily be better than him...

Evidently Michael Bay wanted to hire him for RotF and Nimoy wanted a role in Transformers again but neither asked the other for the opportunity, so it was pretty amazing that not only did they work it out this time, Sentinel Prime ended up being one of the most memorable characters in the films.


... and suddenly nobody was able to see a silly joke from the first movie the same way again.


While a lot of the plot points where tightly guarded secrets, the ads were all-too wiling to spoil Starscream and Shockwave's demises.


Surprisingly, elephants don't die in this.

Seriously though, 5mm ports that actually filled themselves in when you take the guns out was wild. They even painted the little plugs on Roadbuster so his 88 decals didn't have holes in them. Sure as hell ain't getting that anymore...

They cast Swipe in much darker colors than the DOTM version so the painted silver really pops.
