I am saying that. And if I had things my way, Peter Cullen wouldn't be voicing Prime either.

The problem that I have is that you act like there won't be any more chances and that this was our last hope or something. Why is this "just the one time" that he can have the opportunity to come back?

I'm sure there were several that never even expected to see Frank Welker return to the voice role of Megatron in live-action when Hugo Weaving already portrayed him in 1-3, and yet that is exactly what happened in AoE and TLK.

Who's to say that an Optimal Optimus or Optimus Primal won't be played by Garry Chalk down the line?

Ron Pearlman is a great voice over, but I wish it was Garry Chalk instead.

Do you think those 2 would take up the role if Garry Chalk is not allowed to return?

Perlman also has serious acting chops both in and out of comic/nerd culture fandom.

ROTB is also a major Hollywood blockbuster in a franchise where only 2/6 films have a positive RT score (and are otherwise not universally panned outside of the Transformers fandom). Paramount cannot afford to fuck around like RoosterTeeth and Hasbro did with WFC and Prime Wars

When the general public is involved, it’s not just “to sell toys” anymore. It’s “to sell toys” , “put buttcheeks in the theater”, and “minimize Bayisms as much as possible.”

Thank God. His delivery is always clear and concise. No more Primal chewing on his own words like, “Weya fwum yoh fyoootcha”. Shoot he’d be great for Optimus Prime.

As far as I\'m concerned, Ron Perlman needs to be in more things, so I\'m ok with this.

Ron Perlman is fantastic, with an iconic and recognizable voice. I can't see him as a Prime however. Perhaps he'd be better suited to someone else?

While I'm glad they picked someone with good voice acting experience, I'm not seeing Ron Pearlman as Primal. Depending upon how they spin the character in the movie it could work, but I see him being a better fit for BW Megatron.

Speaking of ol' Megs, I'm hoping where David Kaye is based in LA now that he'll at least get the opportunity to audition.

What kind of wording is this? It's bad enough this fandom demands everything be exactly as it was 25-30 years ago in the toys...now the only people "allowed" to voice a role? As if any of them "own" it?

Sean Connery passed away last year. Too bad. I was hoping they'd make more James Bond movies.

The "iconic" Optimus Prime was voiced by David Kaye in Transformers Animated, Neil Kaplan in RiD2001, and by Gary Chalk in at least TF:Cybertron.

As much as I love Garry Chalk (I mean hey, he and I happen to be Brits), I think Ron Perlman will do just as fine as well. Since he was among the more tolerable aspects of the Prime Wars trilogy.

Also, the reason why this not like the whole Peter/Jake replacement situation is that, unlike Jake Foushee, Ron actually has acting talent. If theres replacements may they atleast have that.
