Now I can imagine Primal bragging about the time he shook Scourge's hand after he went to the restroom and didn't wash. :lol

Idk. It\'s not necessarily a bad cast but it should have been Gary Chalk.

Tbf, Gary Chalk's Optimus Primal voice does sound very close to how Optimus Prime is supposed to sound. They probably went with Perlman so they can distinguish the two.

You know I'm generally fine with recasting roles for different versions of things but seeing this news literally days after that quote about Cullen being Prime until he says otherwise was a real "Oh I see how it is" moment.

Yeah, the only disappointment is we’re not getting G1 Prime chatting with BW Primal. But again, Pearlman is great.

I think one of the reasons why they cast Ron Perlman as primal is because that they’re going to be making primal more wiser than Optimus.

Chalk would have been better, end of story. He has much more of a connection with the character than Perlman.

Sometimes I would like them to learn from the Japanese, who do the impossible to find the original actors and voices, not like here that they settle for finding the first actor they see as quickly as possible, within reach, or cheaper.

Ron Perlman is a good choice, but I wish they'd pick Garry Chalk.

Absolutely moronic decision. The original cast is the only cast that should have been offerred these voice roles.

Same as most other opinions here. Ron Perlman is great, but this is the equivalent of not having Peter Cullen voice Prime. Should have been Garry Chalk 100000%.

Should have been Chalk and the fact it isn't tells you EVERYTHING you need to know about this movie.

It's made by the same people who didn't give a f--k about Transformers in all the other ones.

Bumblebee was the exception, because Travis Knight actually gave a damn about the subject matter and got it.

I'm not familiar with Garry Ghalk's work ;)

    However...

Garry Chalk Net Worth- 1-5 Million
Ron Perlman Net Worth 8 Million

*I actually thought Perlman would be worth a lot more..., but anyway, Perlman is a great actor. I'd much rather have Chalk, but who knows, maybe if enough people sign a petition or something? I can now look back and see that although the live action movies aren't my favorites, it really was a miracle we got Peter Cullen as Optimus Prime. I know he wasn't their first choice. Welker finally got to do Galvatron/Megatron in the last couple of films because Hugo Weaving (who is also a great actor), thought the franchise was ridiculous, and bounced as soon as he fulfilled his 3 picture contact. Also by then Bay didn't care anymore, and was only directing the films because Paramount was paying him ridiculous amounts of money.

For the record, I still enjoy the heck out of small parts I see Garry Chalk in like Godzilla (2014), and Sonic the Hedgehog (2020)*apprepo, because he's had a lot of history with Sonic as well. ;)

About as tone def as when they cast Weaving as Megatron.

I love Ron, but Primal's voice actor is right there. They just want to put Pearlman's name on the poster.

I'd think Chalk would be more appropriate for that given how soft spoken he could be as Primal, This news makes me think ROTB Primal might be more angry and bitter, just a feeling mind.

Primal isn\'t NEARLY as iconic as Prime. Perlman is a great choice.

Not surprise by all the bitching. Personally, I not bother about the VA chosen, the same person can't be used forever.

"With explicit reason" for BW Megatron missing this movie being that they didn't want to confuse people due to the character being called Megatron too, or whatever.

There is awlays a "explicit reason" for when things change, you have no reason to assume Megatron will be in this
