    Wow.
Transformation is standard Grimlock fare, but that's not a problem. At least he isn't an over-engineered mess.
But moreover, I'm consistently surprised by his size. That comparison with Vulcan is crazy! Honestly, all the other Grimlocks look so small.
But that comparison with PX Starscream... I wonder if there's a chance they could retool this guy into FOC Grimlock. Vulcan 2.0?

I was wondering if they'd use some of the same engineering from Vulcun (since that's probably still my favorite PX figure), but it looks like most of it is new for the most part. I love that they still make the tail so articulate compared to other Grimlock figures - gives him so much more personality!

Damn, looks like the T.rex head is a bit hit and miss from certain angles. It looks really bad from this view. What's weird is that the dino head isn't even getting into any complex transformations so they could have sculpted it however they wanted. This looks too short and stubby.

all the little bits in the tail seem cumbersome but it doesn't have the same issue Vulcan did where you have to force pieces past each other with minimal clearance. that always worried me.

First of all, he's got the position of the side mouth guards wrong. They are supposed to be vertically oriented, not horizontally as he has them. That alone throws off the looks quite a bit.

Very satisfying. Nice clean tail hide that's actually hidden (I don't think many do that), and a small bit of skirt to make the dino mode clean. I would gladly embrace G2 redeco of this thing.

The back of the head just... end for no reason. The space also makes it look like it's sort of looking towards the camera creating a foreshortening illusion, but I'm just not sure. Everything about the head just looks wrong.

I hope so. The side view really killed all my hype for the figure.

Amazing. I really want to see how they handle Swoop now, because they have Grimlock down.

I’ve been leaning more on Dino mode than Robot mode, but this shot really sold me on Bot mode—

    F301EED1-3CF1-4007-BE5E-AB6BC4B92631.jpeg

I still at the very least would prefer a more metallic or brighter plastic or paint job—if not a MTMTE/LL side mold, but this is definitely growing on me.

I’m feeling the changes for an MTMTE/LL version would be so extensive that PX would just have to re-release Cacus with those changes, and not just as an upgrade kit.

I can’t imagine this could be retooled into FOC Grimsy, but it could influence future engineering for a bigger, badder Vulcan 2.0.

Though, at that point, I’d kinda prefer an Evergreen/Cyberverse/King Grimlock variant with all the various spikes bits and missile pod shoulders.

Yeah, that does have me a bit concerned, along with how dark the eyes look. While I would prefer brighter plastic for all the darker grey portions across the body, brighter plastic for the eyes would be nice, too.

Don't think paint will be an issue. Both Kadmos and Ismenios were painted to the 9s. I am talking about Fans Toys level here.

i would love to see a sophisticated tale on Evergreen Grimlock. I think it’s a good design.

sure, the design isn’t perfect. But I personally can forgive that sort of problem, since this has to work with real world engineering, while the original comic design does not. I think it works well enough for a robot tyrannosaurus that has to be able to turn into a badass robot.

Yeah in that pose it looks perfect... but look at this pose, it needs like a back of head flap or something to look correct... now that I think about it someone somewhere will shapway or CAD a removal part to fill it in.

Or maybe the head can be pushed down?

Like the head is on a slider to keep the head in same position looking downwards? Or this is it just mistransformed on head placement?

Because if you push the back part of the head down it's going to angle the front part upwards. I want it to look like your picture but not looking forward or upwards, I want it to be that solid looking downwards as well without that gap.
