Garry Chalk is just as much a part of the mythos as Cullen.

If he wasn't even OFFERED this part, it's an insult.

considering Garry chalk is in every movie that’s ever shot in Vancouver he probably is but I’d rather have someone with range nowadays then a guy who’s known for only having one voice. His own.

I'm happy for Collider breaking the news...but who made the graphic?

Typically in a situation such as this you'd put the character behind the picture of the person who was just hired to play them.

Hell yeah! If they’re not gonna get Chalk then this is a really good choice. Seems that this Primal will be more world-weary and serious than the toon version, which may call for different voice work.

Ron's voice is actually very close to Garry's. Listen to his take on Sinestro for the Green Lantern animated series. That's just Prim[al].

Yeah, definitely agree that it's both cool casting but also really sucks that they didn't bring back Gary Chalk, it would've been rad to see the OG Boss Monkey on the big screen.

It’s not that I don’t like Ron Perlman, I do, he’s great. I just want to know why not Gary Chalk?

If it wasn’t going to be Chalk (I doubt it ever would have been) l, Perlman is a great choice.

As slightly disappointing as I am in Chalk not being cast I think this is a good video to bring back from two years ago and I wish Perlman the best. I'm glad that it's someone that's played him before and has a history of voice acting already.

Ron Perlman is a terrific voice actor. This is good news. He joins a pretty strong list of screen actors with strong voice acting experience who have voiced Transformers in the live action movies- Hugo Weaving, Leonard Nimoy, John Goodman, Steve Buscemi.

On one hand, I'm bummed about no Garry Chalk, but on the other, Perlman is awesome. The one hangup is that Perlman already did voice Primal in the dreadful Power of the Primes show, and wasn't anything special there, but then again that also had Mark Hamill being not anything special, so I'll chalk that up to the show and direction over them.

Since Garry is not going to be playing primal, it’ll be really cool if they get him as Optimus prime’s holo driver or some military general.

Also please for the Love Of god, cast mark hamill as scourge!

Problem that I had was that he sounded bland in Power of the Primes. Ideally if they have good direction he could be promising but his first appearance as Primal could have been better.

Dang, nothing against Ron but missed opportunity for Peter Cullen and Gary Chalk’s Prime and Primal to actually interact

Does this mean the movie will also have the same "southern-style" Overlord from POTP show up and do a little dance? :D :D :D

They’re actually going to give him voice direction this time so yeah, this is a win, but damn it, that fucking sucks to not have Chalk.

I would imagine it will be a mix of some kind

Agreed but his overall performance in everything else is good.

And yes, Chalk would have been ideal, but if I had to pick a second choice it would have been Perlman.

I don't know that's going to be confusing to have two Megatrons exist in the same time and world. Maybe they can rename him.
