Byleth was from the most recent Fire Emblem game and nothing suggests they're gonna add someone else from the series.

Also adding DLC characters from a wide variety of franchises old and new was the best choice. They're not expecting every character to appeal to you, just that something there will be from a game or franchise you like and I feel like they've accomplished that.

 

I enjoy Byleth as a fighter and I have played Three Houses so I do enjoy the series. But, honestly they could of picked literally anyone else, but another Fire Emblem character.

 

My bad. Mind you my rant wasn't necessarily directed at you per say, but more so broadly to the western fanbase as a whole. And Byleth is the MC of the most recent game in the franchise so unless there's another FE game being released in the next few months (which ain't happening) there will be no more FE characters added to the roster.

For me, Kazuya simply reinforces the notion that Fighters' Pass 2 isn't really about adding the most requested or most hyped characters like Fighters' Pass 1 was (minus Byleth who was meant to be base roster but became DLC due to Three Houses being delayed). Rather, Fighters' Pass 2 really is about filling in missing gaps in the base roster: ARMS and Xenoblade 2 were released just barely outside the cutoff date for Smash Ultimate. Negotiations for Minecraft took five years, well passed the release of Smash Ultimate, Sephiroth brought in sorely lacking Final Fantasy content to the game, and Kazuya... well frankly its somewhat shocking that he wasn't added sooner to the roster considering that Namco are the one's developing the game and yet they've only had one representative (Pac-Man) before this.

 

Banjo, Sephiroth, and Joker are probably the only characters in the entirety of both DLC passes that made me go "OH SHIT!" but otherwise the majority of it had been par the course, and honestly, I've been pretty happy with all of the characters included so far except for Byleth(Did we seriously need yet another FE avatar?). Like Hero, Min Min, Pyra/Mythra and Kazuya are all characters I'm surprised weren't in the game already. Heck Steve broke the internet and Terry was just Sakurai fanboying over Neo Geo games which was great to watch. Terry in fact was a character I always wanted yet never really expected to happen and now he's my new main

I don't need the last character to be a mindblower, but I'm really worried we're gonna get something really lame for the last character like another Pokemon or a Rabbid or some shitty meme character

 

If we're speculating, also worth noting that Capcom is conspicuous in their abscence from the DLC sets, considering this'll be another Namco character in Kazuya

Mind I'm still hoping for Tails or Eggman

 

they had Megaman, Ryu and Ken already in the game, for some that would be sufficient, though I'd definitely would love to see Phoenix Wright or a RE character, and most people would love to see Dante

 

If Capcom ends up getting the final fighter slot, there's no doubt in my mind it'll be from Monster Hunter. That being said, I really hope the final fighter is someone that has the same "wow factor" that Joker or even Cloud and Bayonetta had when they first got revealed. Just something that's completely out of left field.

 

You have no idea! Kazuya's mother (Kazumi) tried to kill his dad (Heihachi), but Heihachi killed her. She is friends with Akuma (from street fighter) and makes him promise to kill Heihachi and Kazuya.

5 year old Kazuya got upset about his dad killing mom, so Heihachi beats him up to near death, and throws him off a cliff. To test to see if Kazuya has the devil gene, which he does.

Heihachi also imprisoned his dad (Jinpachi) underneath a temple, for who knows how long...

Their whole Mishima family bloodline is cursed. Kazuya has a son, and they all want to kill one another.

Despite this crazy story, the game series (Tekken) is really wonderful and worth checking out. It's pretty popular. I know you like Mortal Kombat. Ed Boon's favorite fighting game. (Head guy of MK)

Good mii costume reveals imo. I wasn't expecting them in at all so I'm happy.

 

Seeing Skyrim and Fallout ass miifighters does give me hope we might actually see Doomslayer as the last fighter.

 

If not at least a MII Gunner skin.
