A bunch of fans started a petition to bring back Garry chalk as Optimus primal and other BW voice actors.

Signed, even though they don't work and I would be surprised if they have Primal and BW Megatron in and they don't bring their voice actors back. Someone should ask Kaye about it.

It would be nice to have them back provided the versions of the characters we end up seeing on screen match up with those characterizations.

Kaye and Chalk are tremendously talented so they can most likely adapt as needed. It seems like Primal might be this very old, almost ancient presence in the movie so I'm curious how that will compare to the original BW character / performance.

That said, I'm game for whatever best suits the movie. I still maintain that Frank Welker doing his G1 Megatron voice would not have worked for the live action movies as-is, and if that's what they thought they were getting, they were right to go in a different direction (helps that Weaving did a good job). But his new version that he debuted with Prime and then brought to AOE and TLK was terrific, and is a great fit for live action. Hindsight is 20/20 and all so who knows if Welker could/would have debuted that new version in a live action movie if given the chance.

 

I'm pretty sure it was us fans making noise that got Peter Cullen back in 2007.

Hey man I get what you're trying to do and you're good intentions man but studios don't give a fuck about petitions they don't even look at these petitions to begin with.

To be fair I'm not quite sure what most of the cast is up to these days, but if any of them decided to come back I'd be overjoyed hearing them again.

D'aw, that's awesome. Then I really hope they're approached.  

 

The fact that the actors themselves are sharing this out just comes to show how much they even want to come back  

 

If they don’t get Garry chalk back as Optimus primal, it’ll be cool if they use Garry chalk as a hologram driver for Optimus prime.

 

Petitions don’t work

Mass social media hashtaging, YouTube roast videos, and etc are how you get studios to get things done.

I’m not sure how much of a following this cause will have though.

 

Scott mcniel IS dinobot, rattrap, waspinator, and silver bolt, same goes for David kaye as megs. I think everyone else is easily replaceable.
