Million dollar question: Does he still combine with BW Prowl & Silverbolt (or their BWII counterparts)?
Looks great I really like the color combination of brown, white and teal. And if so - will we get to see this?
Yep still combines. Boss said he'd eventually get around to combining Tripredacus and this one at some point, then he'll send me pics. I'm sure not trying to rush him, and I didn't put much into the parts that are hidden just for combined mode so I doubt either will be particularly special. He's always just had me turning old BW figures into new animals, so from the get-go on these combiner bots I figured my objective was to turn them into the requested animals without trying to keep combining functionality intact at all. Nonetheless, I did make sure each one could still combine. Just didn't go out of my way to make the combiner faces or hidden parts look special or put any thought into making it so the colors come together well in any way when combined. I really have no idea how they will look combined. This mastodon fella's bot mode parts are actually flat aluminum and a teal I mixed myself just for this, but looking at my pics, you guys are right... It does look like white and teal. BTW, teal is my favorite color so I really have to force myself not to default into using it on almost every figure when I have so much freedom on color schemes. I realized that aside from the Albino Optimus Primal I haven't used any teal, so I used it here thinking it'd look particularly nice with this red-brown color and some flat aluminum parts.
not too many combiners have uniform color schemes. Including these beast wars base figures you used. So I wouldn’t worry about that.
Funny you mention that, because down the line I am also supposed to do Beast Wars versions of the Power Ranger Dinozords.
Is Da Boss only interested in original beast wars figures? Or are they open to the new stuff? Cuz there could be a good chance to use new TF figs for 4 outta 5 dinozords
cool but he made king primal so he's gonna have to make megazilla not rushing either of you but yeah....
I have brought up how much better some newer figures would be for certain things, but naw, he's all in for the originals only.
I get that. I was thinking it’s harder to get older figs Vs the current stuff. But you like what you like. BW had SO MANY figs that never made TV and could be such a treasure trove for custom fodder.
I love it - NGL I thought it was Big Convoy from the thumbnail. The turquoise and silver really pop with the brown for a 70s rec room vibe that I dig.
Yeah I've been doing commission customs for about 12 years now, but my current customer has me booked up for the rest of the year at least. I gotta try and make time to fit a couple of my own personal projects in here soon. Namely, repainting Kingdom Blackarachnia and improving generations Rhinox to go inmy display with the others.
