Hmm. Is it a matter of perspective or is he really taller than the Siege mold? If so, that changes things. I was going to keep using my ToyHax'd/Nonnef'd Siege version, but that height difference changes things, if true. I don't recall Sideswipe and Red Alert being taller than the other carbots and Sunstreaker. Guess it's time to hit that scale chart again.

 

Crap. So the two-pack of Swipe n the BW is Selects exclusive as well as Red being WG? Sheesh. Can't catch a break.

 

You mean like the gray shins? Or gray hands? Or darker cored biceps?

 

Sideswipe is a Kingdom release, not Selects. Still an exclusive, though, through Amazon. And yes, Red Alert is a Walgreens exclusive. (yay...)

 

I think vehicle mode is where the black boxes are most unsightly. Robot mode is more fictional, so color breaks/variations can be forgiven. but breaking up the color on a sleek car body with a random black square is bad to me.

 

He's definitely taller. Looking at the vehicle mode comparison pics, the back of Red Alert's earth mode is also longer than the Siege version.

I was in the same boat thinking I might be able to just hold on to my Siege Red Alert but I think I'm liking earth mode Red Alert a little more. And I'm actually liking Red in the Earth mode remold better than Earth mode Sideswipe as well. The only thing I wish is Hasbro go just a little further and provide some effects parts to simulate Red's short circuit headaches.

Since I never got toy hax stickers for my Siege Red Alert, I might look into repurposing him as Clamp Down.

 

I really regret buying so many siege "Cybertronian mode" cars that really just look like concept car designs done right here on good ole planet Earth now that it seems I'll be buying them all again.

I dont know why but i have never found any of the lambo characters very interesting. He\'s a pass for me even though there is nothing wrong with him. 

 

I think I might stick with Siege Red Alert. That slight height difference sort of approximates the differences between Sideswipe and Red Alert's animation models. Maybe someone will make some third-party doors to hang off the arms.

 

I just want Clampdown, now.

Seriously, it’s bad enough we’re still missing Deep Cover in Masterpiece, now Clampdown is going to suffer the same fate for Generations.

 

I'm not too concerned with the doors, though I completely get it... I just don't know what to do with Sideswipe and Red Alert with these new versions vs the current ones... Ugh. I hate having to replace so soon. (I don't "have" to, but you get my point.)

 

not me, the cybertronian stuff were some of my favorite imaginations.

to me these are just the same things with a few minor alterations to make them appear more earth mode. no point in double dipping on these for me.

 

Siege Red Alert looks better..at least from my initial impression

Oh the launcher, yeah. Removing the peg on the missile is a good move. It looked terrible as a pistol.

That is some vibrant looking white on this one. Love that they did that rather than the often muted white they use on so many figures.
