What parts did you swap out? And does it still transform? I really want to swap out the ER barrel sword with the siege sword but it doesn't fit aesthetically in tank mode

I did lots of stuff, to the point where pictures probably tell more. But it's basically Siege's Vehicle mode with ER's torso, head, and arms (Specifically the arms, not the shoulders). He does still transform, but the tank treads do not lock in any meaningful capacity to the torso. They're stay in that position through friction.

After doing your change, just removed the sword bit from the ER turret piece and am "filling it in" with ER Soundwave's gun. 20210625_192428.jpg

I was really after a nice robot mode, and I think I succeeded. Sorry, but my camera is pretty bad.

Shoulders, important to note, are from Siege. You can unscrew the entire shoulder assembly and just put it on ER Megs, swapping the arms since they're just on mushroom pegs. The ER shoulders don't fit with their molded gun turrets.

You'll have to snip material off for them to close, though.

And there, you can see his mild waist issue. It looks good head on (I think, at least), but his side profile leaves quite a bit to be desired. It looks okay when posing him, though.

As for how I did the back treads, you just need a pin punch for it. I pushed it out at the point where the head's panel meets with everything else because my ER Megatron's head panel was pretty significantly yellowed, but I did end up breaking the ER back treads while doing so (otherwise I'd show his very deformed brother). Those pins are in there tight, and on ER, the pin is in much thinner plastic, while Siege is pretty thick. So if you do attempt any of the backpack stuff, be aware that you're probably not gonna come out of it with 2 full Megatrons.

Wow that tank mode looks really good. The ER tank barrel really does this mold a big favour in alt mode. I might do the same by unscrewing the sword and just plugging in Soundwave's pole gun.

Although your Megatron needs to work on his glutes at the gym LOL

Awesome custom! Lots of great ideas!

I've been thinking of doing some heavy mods to extend his neck and give him wrist swivels but its a bit too risky.

I now have the green G2 repaint. I passed on grey Earthrise Megatron as its too close to my Siege Megatron. I have to say that the Earthrise mold is much more satisfying than the Siege original. Much more pleasing to the eye. I like how chunky it looks and feels.

What I don't like is the gun-spear. There is just no good way to display it.

Remove the screw, and you can wiggle the pieces apart, so you have the tank cannon which can be mounted on his fusion cannon, and a sword that works quite well as a sword, and they can still connect together again for tank mode.

I just stick it into the bottom of his hand (via the peg that goes into the fusion canon for vehicle mode). It makes it look like he is holding a spear somewhat normally and the hand is mostly hidden (at least when looking at it from most angles). It works better than just plugging it onto the side of his arm like most reviewers did.

Hello sorry to bump this up, but I have this figure mint in box and I don't know if its my eyes, but I think he may have yellowed. I don't know how this happen as the figure has been pack away from any sunlight. How is everyone else's figure holding up?

It seems to be a pervasive problem with the mold

They must have changed the chemical makeup between siege and earthrise, causing yellowing on various of the slightly softer gray plastic

If you keep figures away from sunlight too long it'll also cause yellowing. But yeah, it seems like everyone's Megatron is yellowing no matter the circumstance

I bought mine used and don't know how the original owner displayed him but mine has held up fine. He's usually in the dark here because I use light killing blinds and a black curtain on the only window and when I'm in here I only use a soft lamp. Hopefully he won't yellow but if it happens, so be it.

I got mine in April and no discolouration yet thankfully. I keep it displayed in an unlit bookcase out of direct sunlight. I'm hoping it won't discolour that yellow, like my original Super Nintendo did.

There is a technique called retrobrighting involving hydrogen peroxide and UV light, but I wouldn't reccommend it. What most people using that technique realise is that it doesn't stop the chemical breakdown that causes yellowing. It actually dramatically accelerates it. So while it may look fixed for a little while, it's going to come back much faster the second time around, and may make the plastic more brittle.

The chest is a retool but does he still have enough of the same parts to he able to wear the spoiler edition matrix?

Has anyone had any experiences with the Replacement ankles that allow his feet to fold in for tank mode?
I bought a set and I'm positive that they're mis-cast because the joints are a right angle to what the figure needs (I've checked on both ER and Seige, but the molds have the same feet).
Am I missing something or did I get a bum product?

I'm also wondering if trimming the tab on the inner leg would solve the folding in problem. (but create a hollow space on the leg in Robot mode)

Apologies, I don't have pix at the moment, but I can get some if needed.

They're kind of weird, but here are a few pics showing how they compress and stretch out:

    Got it! Thank you!
Actually I feel dumb now because the issue I was having is that they were packed flat. And there's actually a swivel where the screw part meets the foot. But since it was flat it looked like the foot would only attach sideways.
The swivel was pretty tight, so it wasn't immediately clear that you could twist it 90 degrees.

Thank you thank you thank you!
