Whatever happened to reducing material costs of packaging, Hasbro? That box is fucking gigantic for such a small toy. A cool-looking small toy I really want, but still, overkill much? I do like that we finally, FINALLY have Bumblebee with his flying saucer mode. This was like the one toy I was hoping Siege would give us along with hoverbox Wheeljack.
Unless he's also smuggling a Cliffjumper, that box is a tad excessive. Good lord. That aside, I think it looks neat. Captures the saucer look without making the robot look too silly.
You guys are aware that there's just about the same amount of empty space in this box as there was with Cliffjumper and Netflix Bee right? The only real difference is the lack of a plastic clam shell, which has been replaced with an actually biodegradable material (cardboard), in accordance with how the rest of the mainline packaging has been drifting towards with Kingdom. Sure they could have designed a more form fitting box, considering this is a special release, but they obviously (and I'd say rightly) want to maintain a box size consistent with all the other deluxe sized boxes, so that way it's easier for people to see on the pegs and have an easier time with determining it's price point.
So that is what Bee would have looked like in the Netflix show if it wasn't, you know, objectively horrible. The head is a little wonky, but only when compared with the last release. I love it.
Yup. Honestly I hope they retool a bunch of the Earthrise/Kingdom guys into Cybertronian modes. Hoist/Trailbreaker, Tracks, Huffer, Warpath, Sunstreaker. They would probably end up as exclusives though…
TR Roadburn was my G2 Hubcap for a while - small red alt mode, orange face, it seemed way closer I would absolutely love new Throttlebots, but Goldbug needs to be included - I'm gonna buy that Shattered Glass one, but if one with a more 'traditional' color scheme comes out he's going up for sale!
But those were also ridiculous. It's not like people have never seen wasteful packaging, it's just weird that it's still around. To say nothing of the waste of materials, it's dedicating a lot of shelf space. Somewhat unrelated, but I recently picked up those Halo figures, and one was a two-pack. It is, I shit you not, 90% empty box. You could fit like twelve figures in there if you really crammed them, and it took up so much space on the TRU shelf it was almost comedic. This Bumblebee isn't that bad, but it's still so odd to see big wastes of space in this day an age.
Bout time, hell yeah! I've always felt that this Bubbles was the best looking version, even as a kid. But a side note... Ppl bitching about the amount... of SPACE... in the damn BOX!?!?! We finally get the 1st character to appear onscreen for Transformers and the gripe is space in the box?!?! I swear I feel that some ppl are just miserable on purpose. Ppl just actively look for things to cry about. Damn Hate Culture era; can't wait for it to be over. And I know it'll never officially end, it's just unreasonably popular this era for some reason. It won’t be. None of the Buzzworthy BB figures are. But you never know sometimes. Definitely better than being a Walmart exclusive.
