I found this dude tonight.

It’s amazing that the company that made core Starscream and Optimus also made this guy.

It looks fine, but this figure’s construction is some of the worst I’ve handled in a long time. It feels like the Transformers Authentics figures you find on shelves at Walgreens.

Dissappointed in the feet in deck mode but the rest is awesome

 

I'd like a three-pack of Marvel Soundwave (purple), Shattered Glass Soundwave (white) and Soundblaster (black).

 

Arrived today, Weakest quality feeling out of all cores so far, tolerances were wild, great little wave though, just yeesh doesn't feel like he was made with the sturdiest quality in mind.

 

This, I’m wondering if any legends 3rd party ones would fit

 

He's probably the only G1 Core Class I'll end up getting because it just makes sense, but the feet are ridiculous to me. Like, they couldn't have put them on a swivel and had the toes facing downward in alt mode? They really had to let that one blemish through on what is otherwise the perfect tiny Soundwave?

 

I’m amazed this guy actually had a little bit of ankle tilt. I love him; he’s perfect except for the weird feet sticking out in deck mode.

Is anyone half-expecting to to see third party tapes for him?

 

I would be more surprised if we DON’T get third party tapes.

Ugh. It's killing me that I can't find this guy in any local stores. They really nailed it on this figure.

 

Yeah, I would agree. to me the hurdle to overcome is the small size
Even HasTak don't seem all that confident to tackle that issue.

 

Transforming, I'd be surprised, because this is a ridiculously small size that they realistically won't be able to sell for a high price (maybe $5, $6 per cassette?). But a bunch of colored rectangles with accurate tape patterns, I can guarantee are being planned as we speak.

 

im pretty sure there are third party tapes that are close to the size that transform in the 3rd party legends category. I think Hot soldiers

 

I was thinking that one of the legends scale third party Soundwaves has tapes that transform.

I’d also say the original tapes aren’t that complicated at all. With modern machinery you could downsize them fairly easily. The biggest hurdle is how hard they’d be to transform at that size even with an easy transformation scheme
