You mean how his previous design was so terrible that basically everyone, fans of Sonic and those who weren't, rightfully mocked and called it shit? Them admitting their fumble and giving him a much better design won them a lot of good favor and as a result the Sonic movie performed quite admirably.

Calling them 'online crybabies' is needlessly petulant, it was a shitty design and I don't think this is a hill worth dying on, my friend.

Yh, bcs honestly I worry when changing the CGI company, bcs man, what was near perfection and great in those movies was CGI. I hope ILM is working on it as well

another thing to note about the sonic redesign is the scene were he gets a bomb stuck to his hand doesn't make a lot of sense since his new design had gloves

I don't believe for a second that the Sonic redesign was thanks to fans, I distinctly recall a full week before the trailer was revealed that a Paramount investors release was already listing the Sonic movie as a delayed project.
I think it's more likely that test audiences had found it ugly and lame so they tried to pretend a change that was already going to happen was "for the fans!"

I'm curious to see how the work of this studio translates to more mechanical animals, very interested.

What kind of monster are you? A cartoon character can't take his gloves off, it's horrendous, it's like a crime

This is great news. Especially if the Maximals and Predacons look like this.

This is probably one of the most dog dookie takes I ever heard. For one thing, ILM is a fantastic company that does incredible work but they are not the only good studio that makes good CGI in all of Hollywood (like Weta, for example)--that's just silly. Secondly, there is never only one studio working on the CGI of a film. Infinity War had 13 different SFX studios working on that film. All I'm saying is A) the notion that no film can have good CGI if it's not ILM is silly and B) blockbuster films usually don't have only one SFX studio working on them because that isn't feasible.

Also, look at the work they've done in films like the Lion King. As bad as it was, it looked so hyperrealistic it put reality to shame. How can you say that ILM can't even be challenged when other studios are capable of putting out work like that?

This is the most procapitalist take I've heard in a quick minute. The public pushed the studio to change the CGI so it's the public's fault that the company worked their employees to death. There were no alternatives to that situation at all...

yeah i think it's safe to assume Ilm isn't being replace, they've worked on all previous films and bumblebee was honestly their best work yet even being on a lower budget(to be fair the director having a lot of experience with 3d animation probably played a big part in this)

Glad to have confirmation, a little bit ago I found out that not only did mpc and scanline work together for gvk but that scanline was specifically brought on to do mecha godzilla so it seemed safe to assume that ilm would return for transformers
