So you want them to constantly yell “transform!!!” And take up half the movie with re-used transformation sequences that are a solid 30 seconds each?

Trying not to get excited over these headlines based off my experience with TF live action films, but I do love BW!

Still going to assume this movie will be awful and if it tuens out to be good, then I will be pleasantly suprised!

Beast Wars used stock transformation animation as well. Hell, one of the ways the Bay films started to "cheat" was keeping the transformations off screen. That shit is expensive to animate, and should have been a motivating factor to simplify the robot designs. I think even Beast Machines cheated because the designs didn't really flow from bot to beast.

Despite the hyper photorealism not working for something like an adaptation of The Lion King, it was still mostly impressive CGI so they sound like a good choice.

Ah yes, the studio that worked their employees overtime and then fired an entire studio during a year of incredibly successful films becuase they didn\'t like the cost of the location.

Everyone knocks the studio for working their employees overtime, but leaves out the part where they did it because a bunch of online crybabies filled their diapers over Sonic's initial design so Paramount ordered a redo but didn't give then enough time to do it without crunching.

It reminds me of fans complaining about HasTak not creating figures that are accurate, or scaled, or etc but then complain when prices go up to cover the costs involved in doing all of that.

ILM seemed to have the transformations down to a science, I think I remember reading about how they created tools specifically to make all the moving parts of transformations easier and more efficient to animate over the years of being a part of these films. Hope MPC can do the same

I would have liked to see it in good CGI like Lion King, but when I learned that the Beast Wars would be mechanical, rusty and not have an organic appearance, I lost hope.

This the only way I can see them being able to hiding like the director said.

I don't think people are crybabies for thinking the dead walking corpse of a hedgehog wasn't something with going to the theaters over.

I'm just gonna go ahead and say it...ILM is the king of CGI. Everything else is just second. If Hasbro/Paramount is not going to give this movie the funding it deserves, then I already do not have high hopes.

Knowing they did Aquaman worries me less, but did they do what Godzilla movies?
Bcs idk, Transformers CGI are giant robots with thousands of pieces that blow computers. ILM was competent enough in their work, and they didn't disappoint with the Dinobots which were beasts

The link leads to their filmography. From what I gathered, they did all Godzilla movies. And they also worked on The Last Knight, Justice Legaue, some Predator and Terminator movies, The Independance Day. I don't really see that much robot action in their portfolio. ILM looks like the go-to when it comes to robots. It may be the case that both studios will work on the project. They worked on Aquaman and The Last Knight before, so I don't think there's any need to panic :)

The new movie will surely recquire CGI animals due to the scenes shot in South American wilderness, so MPC might be working on that portion of the film while ILM handles the robots as usual

Yeah, I saw the movie. There was a scene where the main human was supposed to have his hand on Sonic's back, but looked like it was a good few inches above Sonic. Like the scene was made for the spawn of satan design.
Which matches what little I've heard that said that design was producer mandated, and the fact that toys for the movie used that old design too. Which isn't something ya do if for a marketing ploy.

Yeah it was definitely not a marketing stunt. People give the marketing department way too much credit.
