Yep, I caved and paid $230 for one misb a couple months back. I had unique toys version and it's not bad just too tall/big.

Now that it's on my shelf I couldn't be happier, would have loved to pay less for one but happy to have it.

Now the way my luck works a reissue will be announced, but the way FT pricing is now it probably won't be anywhere near the original release price.

 

Welp, at long last I finally worked up the courage to transform this guy. Looks pretty good...



Transformation wasn't as bad as I expected (though I'm starting to find that that applies to every figure I transform after reading other people's experiences on here...I guess I just have more graceful hands than the average transformer collector), but I'm still baffled that Fanstoys felt the need to use so many armatures for this guy. Like with Arcee I sort of got it, since her robot mode has a very limiting shape and her alt mode has to look like a car. But Blurr, who transforms from a fairly standard robot to some sort of generic futuristic hover vehicle? It's crazy that they weren't able to think of something simpler, even if it required making the alt mode a bit chunkier or whatever.

That all being said, the one thing that really pissed me off is that I can't plug this bottom piece in...

It's just so unsatisfying that I basically can't do the last step. Anyone have this problem before, or have any idea why this is happening? I'm pretty sure I have everything positioned correctly. I wonder if I'll need to sand down the pegs or something.


But anyway, I guess it ultimately doesn't matter too much, since the bottom isn't really visible anyway, so I can leave the bottom piece unpegged. I'm just glad my Jabber finally ascended beyond being a glorified action master. It always depresses me to think about a transformer that never gets transformed. I assure you I'll never let any of my TFs suffer that fate!

 

Yeah my Jabber doesn't fully peg in when I transform him either. I tried wiggling the crap out of all the effected joints but I just can't get everything plugged in. I stopped messing with it out of fear of breaking the side panel that is on the armature (it's the piece that most people that had breakages suffer from). That one piece is such terrible engineering, if I (in the future) mess with it more, it will break.

 

Does anyone knows the customer service of Fanstoys? I need a replacement targetmaster of Jabber.

Hell yeah, they're the best! What we need though is some FT branded floor polish and there will never be another problem again! Floor polish cures all, even broken Targetmasters!

 

All those figures have already come and gone. You can hope for a reissue for Jabber, Mav, Goose, and Iceman. I could see the Aerialbots getting a reissue closer to the others being released for the combiner, Jabber is a recent release (meaning within a couple of years), so I doubt they will do a reissue anytime soon.

Hoodlum shelf warmed most stores before COVID. He was actually on clearance at BBTS for like $80, so I doubt you will see him again. They might do a 2.0 for him.
Willis needs a 2.0 also. I sold mine and got a MP-47. Willis is so old your best bet is watch the sale threads here and the TF Facebook group for good sales on all these if you got the pokemon bug and need to catch them all now.

 

Still hoping for a reissue or 2.0

Even if they don't do a retool, I'd imagine they will reissue at some point. Hope they do the same for Brawn and Astrotrain.

 

Ya think? By FT's standards they had to extend an unusual amount of aftermarket support on Jabber for its oft reported broken bits n such. I wonder - pure speculation - if that would deter them from revisiting it, or if it's maybe the opposite and they kinda want/need to offset the initial losses with a 2nd run. Is there any sense of a pattern to the timeframe of their past re-issues?
