That shot of Prime getting shot at, the stock transformation sound and then the truck driving out  of the kicked-up dust is very funny.

...And I assume that\'s not what the intent was.

 

I was super excited to see the clip but lord the voices....why? I can dig the first 2 parts but BW was my jam in my childhood/early teens, this is awkward.

That being said, I can go to the store and get new BW figures for my son and share with him so that I am thankful for.

 

I just disconnect the toys from the show.

 

Looks good, but good lord, that voice acting might possibly be worse than what we got in Siege and Earthrise. The pacing might be worse too.

 

Looks interesting. I wonder how they're going to deal with the size difference between the G1 and Beast Wars characters.

Kidding aside, as with the previous web series for Generations lines, my feelings range from, "This is somewhat cringey but I'm just happy to have some kind of animated continuity that is G1-esque," to, "I'm stoked to see Beast Wars in both a mainstream feature film coming up, ongoing comics, and in a web series for actual toys, so I'll take it I guess."

Yeah, it's not my ideal. (Like many I suspect, my ideal would be an actual full production budget animated series on actual broadcast TV and streaming alike, with even more fealty to the source material.) But it's something. Which is more than I could say years back. And hey, previous installments gave us great Andross Starscream memes, so I'm sure this will produce some good ones too.

You're assuming they think they suck. Maybe the actors see (hear?) no problem with their performances?

Yes.

It is partially with them, because they are the ones turning in the final performances.

You are assuming that the voice directors aren't also trying their hardest. Perhaps the voice direction wouldn't be as much of an issue if the actors were more talented? Maybe the actors don't know how to take direction? It's not like directing someone is easy. I find it funny that people are so eager to shift the blame from the actors just because they assume it's poor management.

It takes many ingredients to make a shit cake. Putting the blame squarely on the voice direction is just as disingenuous as putting the blame squarely on the actors.

 

Horrendous.
