It's more coherent than MPM 12. Also, if you look at the model from the top, Optimus Prime's back and chest are triangular and not flat. As it is, MPM 12 just looks like it's carrying a giant flat board on his back.

You say one big hinge on MPM12 yet FL has 2 hinges.
and the back surface on MPM12 is nighly the same contour and surface as DLX version.

The flat you saying is basically FL. See that rectangular shape ?

I'm not saying FL is perfect, I'm saying it does the back so much better even if it's not accurate. Your photos show the giant truck kibble on the back, and the big hinge breaking the sculpt of the spine. In terms of the detail, I totally agree that MPM 12 is more accurate, but even though it's more accurate, other elements get in the way of the look. If they could get rid of the truck kibble seen from the side and the big hinge, MPM 12 would absolutely be superior from the back. Right now, it exists in a weird state where it both looks good and bad at the same time. The other reason I like FL better even though it's not accurate is that it fits well with the aesthetic of the figure. Most of MPM 12 is pretty kibble-free then this big piece of kibble hanging on the back and isn't well hidden.

I don't own FL or want to own it. But it does the back better even if it doesn't look accurate.

So anyways, I think we can all appreciate MPM12 that it's a solid figure to fiddle with and very accurate for what Hasbro could provide, which is impressive regardless of this "back BS" going on here. The back on MPM12 is fine, done and done. Let's move on haha.

Good news, he can hold his blaster properly! Also there are some screws at the wrist joint that may help fix the issue if it is present on some copies.

Sorry, but not likely. It's the same Hasbro release. There is a VERY slim chance that the Takara domestic release will be different but it's very unlikely. At least the blue windows match MPM-7 but I have no idea why they did that on either of them. What's even more bizarre is that MP-45 Bumblebee V2 is the only recent MP Autobot car release that did not have blue windows. I ended up getting Toyhax translucent blue stickers to fix the windows and make him match everyone else. It's like they swapped the window plastic between MPM-7 and MP-45. Maybe the factory confused the two VW Beetles?

My Amazon Japan order was just automatically canceled because the listing says it comes with a trailer on their site. The email was entirely in Japanese so be sure to look into any Amazon Jp emails you get if you ordered from them.

 

I got the same email. Totally bizarre! To be honest I'm anxious to get this and TT says on their web site that the release status is "postponement of release". So I'm most likely just going to buy the Hasbro version.
