And Hasbro finally added an Autobot logo to the chest. That's a first. SS Goldbug is nice, but couldn't we get a regular Goldbug instead? Might be a good replacement for my Generations figure.
Yeah, this. If "accuracy" is the name of the game, then surely they should be aiming for accuracy here, too. The impression I get is that Hasbro doesn't have a lot of faith in SG. They see it as a risk, so they're doing it with the cheapest molds they can. Instead of SG Megatron being made from Kingdom Galvatron (thus a leader) or Blurr from a more sportscar-looking guy like Sideswipe or Sunstreaker, they've gone with a cheap palette swap that doesn't really do the SG characters justice in most cases. I mean this Goldbug is fine, (it's FINE), but it doesn't really scream "Shattered Glass" to me. It's FINE. But I don't think it's really wowed me. If this line continues beyond these 5 or so figures, I hope they start taking a few more risks.
To be fair, while I personally would love SG! Megatron to have been done in Galvatron’s mold, going back to the original origin of these characters he was done in Energon Galvatron’s mold, but was still only Megatron. He then got reformatted into Galvatron, who ironically went from spaceship to helicopter(why? Idk). Likely our new SG!Megatron would likely have some similar experience, though hopefully not the same alt-mode, and become Galvatron. Hopefully the line continues and we get him as SG!Galvatron, but I guess we’ll see how the comics end up, whether or not we’ll see another line. Heck, if the rumored ‘toy accurate’ Galvatron redeco was actually SG!Galvatron? I’d take it!
I couldnt disagree more. The fact that this is Transformers shouldnt be an excuse to repurpose "molds" just for the sake of repurposing. In 2008, repurposing for SG made sense. In 2021, it makes zero sense. If it was SG superheros, would you invert Superman's colors and call him SG Batman ? That would be dumb. Thats pretty much the same concept as using a Hot Shot mold to be Goldbug in 2021.
Because someone had that helicopter Springer spare and decided to try repainting it to see who they could get out of it Turns out, Evac's head? Really Galvatron-y. Worked that good they made the final figure as well
in all seriousness this dude looks reat and is probably gonna be the only use of the ER cliffjumper mold i get unless a glyph is made
Ewwww... Thats so slavish to 2008 shortcomings when no Goldbug mold was available. (Assuming that Funpub wasnt allowed to use Classics Bumblebee mold 2 years in a row after 2007 Bugbite)
I was talking about BBTS and other US-based sites. I know listings for these have been found on Amazon AU.
I mean, I guess this is about what I should've expected? He looks alright, as good as they could make him anyways. Nifty head sculpt and colors.
God, finding Transformers at Zing is like finding a needle in a haystack. Much easier to just shop online.
thats what i was talking about, though i dont know why they decide to jack up the prices to be that high
I was meaning Sideswipe. And yeah, Pete's used the siege mold for their custom class. Although, using the kingdom one can justify it's existence better than the two versions of it we're getting.
Sharp colors but the Cliffjumper mold at $30? I can say that because I don't have any attachment to "Evil Mirror Universe LOL" though.
more likely correct answer: Volkswagen doesn't allow they're vehicles to be used for villians, and SG Goldbug (even if he is technically Bumblebee) is a villian. Same deal with Bug Bite.
this. And not to mention that with this new head tied into this mold means our chances of getting G1 goldbug with the VW tooling even better now.
