I love that Scourge seems to be taking some inspiration from his G1 (Goatee from what I've read), Cybertron (2005, beastly features), and RID (2001, he is said to have smokestacks).

I urge you people to find a different way to get your dopamine rush than arguing about semantics of what is and isn't a good movie.

What has age to do with any of this? That's what you resort to after being called out? Quite sad that you're arguing with teens considering you deem yourself so mature.

Based on the comments I've seen you post on this forum over a few years now... I can definitely say that you can't be trusted on this matter either.

 

I’m completely ignoring the rest of this thread since I know EXACTLY how it’s going with a major announcement like this.

I just wanted to say that I’ll keep my fingers crossed they don’t try to cram too much into this since we’ve seen how well that plays out based on past movies.

Also, I’m excited to see Beast Wars characters get the big screen treatment, but I’m sure they won’t have much to do with the original characters outside of names, beast modes and small design cues here and there. We should temper our expectations and not expect them to retread any plot points from the original BW cartoon any more than they did G1.

I’m not expecting Oscar quality filmmaking, I just hope for a coherent story, good actors, enjoyable Transformers characterization with streamlined designs, and that it doesn’t take itself too seriously. That was the basis that made the Bumblebee movie enjoyable. PLEASE don’t let this regress back to AoE/ TLK levels of bloated hodge podge drek that made no sense.

Oh and of course cool toys would be welcome as always.

This is a different continuity, after all. It doesn't completely make sense to apply G1 logic to it. Hell, we don't even know if Abominus, Predaking or even combiners in general will be in the movie.

 

If I am expected to revere an 80's cartoon that's only charming in a "that's dated but cute" way, then it only stands to reason that the rest of this board should tolerate the existence of bayverse. Both are severely flawed but successful in their day, and both have their own appeal.

I don't think we're getting a clean cut from the Bayverse (or more importantly the production team responsible for it), until one of these movies outright bombs.

And if that be the case, so be it. I'm tired of this ride.

And where else can we go to see people fight about movies and toys? Plus, it's fun watching people bring up everyone else's ages as if that's got anything to do with the conversation.

 

Arguing was inevitable when this was announced, and as much as I enjoy being constantly right I've had my fill for today, and probably tomorrow. There's plenty here to mull over, and dead horses should be put to rest after being given a proper burial.

 

Just worried how they want to go back to the blockbuster spectacle of Bay-Films after the success of the smaller scale Bumblebee. Even more worried with how they want to mix the spectacle with a character heavy story. Cant have both
