that's the most exciting thing I've heard yet, Energon Arcee was about the best concept I think anyone's come up with for the character, would love to see that executed with modern engineering.
ah, interesting, so it will be somewhat of an inversion. Weird, but whatever.

Just hope the script/story is good.

Holy shit. We’re actually getting Beast Wars in live action. My excitement for this movie has gone from 0 to 100!

The more I simmer on it, this movie seems like a clusterfuck... hopefully they find a way to pull it off.

I agree, but getting cool designs and toys are the main thing I care about.

Not sure how I feel about Optimus being even more G1 than the Bumblebee design. That one was a really great design that was already visibly G1 but also maintained the more mechanical details of the previous films, I can’t really see them going much more G1 without losing the visual elements that make the BB design interesting and relatively distinct.

All of this info sounds GREAT, glad they are keeping with the BB mantle of G1 designs, and the Beast Wars designs sound VERY promising, plus the little love letters to the Unicron Trilogy with Scourge and Arcee have me very excited. I can't WAIT to see these designs.

Really, truly hope that one of the characters they haven't revealed yet is BW Megs though, I'm not at all a Beast Wars fan but it would be unreal.

Scourge is sounding more like a merging of RID and Cybertron Scourge, with some G1 “the tracker” thrown in.

I'd rather just chuck the name Scourge and use Clench.

This guy totally needs more love:

I don't really know how to feel about this. I'd rather have just have a separate universe film with beast or something. This just doesn't make much sense to me and I'm usually an optimist

But wouldn’t it be better instead of throwing away the classic designs, to improve them? Designs that are “not detailed enough” still have some important design elements, like at least the color and head design. So instead of starting over and making something completely unrecognizable, why not just add interesting qualities to the old design?

Isn't that specifically what I said though? I think we are literally on the same page. Though I will say that "the head design" is not always something well done when it comes to G1 robots, there is a fairly wide number of characters with heads that are frankly very derivative and lack strong elements. For every Wheeljack there is a "another guy that looks like a slightly modified Sideswipe or Nightbeat"
