Feel free to check the website but TRU Canada, the same place that has been one of the cheapest places to grab MPMs outside of Target, has it listed as $180 CAD. If the US retail price at Target was $170 then something is severely screwed up in their systems.

Don’t trust online retailers to be the correct retail price suggested by Hasbro. They’ve been substantially upselling MPMs since at least MPM-4 and they’re not likely to stop anytime soon.

Where? In the original source it was discussed if it was a BMB KO but it's most likely the offcial test model.
Also the mpm4's test model had the same plastic colors. Third parties don't need to use these kind of prototypes, they always use grey resin models.



Though i would not be surprised if there was already a KO in the way... (With fixed shoulders, heh)

Mpm is never priorty , it is just a line to be able to do "more" in a wider constraitn budget. Gotta leave room for main MP line.
And price has many indicator involved. Characte licensing, toy brand licensing. The figure is $130 without shipping to US. Toyworld doesnt have any license , bitch to transform. And lets not talk about those KOs.

If it's true that means they either got the files for him, got an "early" copy that some reviewers did, or are somehow really fucking good reverse engineering it.

 

I don’t think so ? The translation of the Weibo post roughly means “Damnnn , Mpm 12 ko already on the way.” Probably just an assumption I guess , since there’s no follow up from the same account yet .

Btw how difficult is it to push the ears out a little on the optimus’s head ? I’ve seen someone mod it and it looks substantially better. Honestly pushing me more on the purchase

You can do some modding sure , but you wont be able to transform anymore.
I separated the head so you can see the antenna part .


As you can see , you can try to add something in between the antenna to increase distance between them. But the problem arise is the antenna connect with a part of his head.

So depends on what you do , it will be very ugly or slightly better because that piece still protrude out.
Best bet would be waiting if DNA kit release an upgrade kit. It would be the antenna with springloaded mechanism and part of his head separated from it.

 

Alright noted because the one I saw looked like this , think he did one side to show the difference but I could be wrong .

 

thats exactly what i mean
he done it in the manner that those 2 side head pieces stick out enough to not have any gap , so it look kinda good. But im used to CGI accurate thin head so i am fine with the figure , unless someone can make it as good as 3A DLX head
