Dreadwing and Smokescreen have always been extremely cool designs and I would kill to see them translated to a high budget movie

I wonder how big of a part Optimus will play? Bumblebee was a step in the right direction, but I found it a little underwhelming. Despite being the title character the story didn't really center around him.

I guess Optimus Prime is pretty easy to spot   The other Autobots may be quite a riddle. And unless it will be Stunticons, the Decepticons should be also easy to spot going to the set.

 

No one in this thread agrees with you also if you don't care about this film/reboot universe then why are you here?

Wow. Are we finally talking about the Transformers characters in a Transformers movie instead of the human characters? I was starting to think that with all the human cast announcements, we were getting a Pretenders movie. LOL

 

It's not even out yet but I can already see other people already caring about it

 

Judging by that front shot of the sheeted truck; he looks like the truck mode for Seige Optimus.

 

Are we sure? Where did that picture come from? The smokestacks look really tall compared to the tarp picture

 

Also the tire guard on the back is the wrong size. I think this may just be a visualization or a guess though. Has anyone checked movie prop websites yet?

 

That photo is from a fan account, it's just a reference for what the Truck might look like underneath.

As for the smokestacks, I'm pretty sure they just removed them for protection while they transport it.

 

While I may live in Ireland I've actually seen a bunch of red trucks with white striping/details over the years. It's not an uncommon or rare colour scheme at all, I don't know where you pulled that logic or reasoning from. It's definitely way more inconspicuous and everyday than a huge long nose truck with flames.

Also why are you bringing up fire convoy? What's the relevance? He's cool but these movies are obviously going to appeal to general audiences. But still need designs and an asthetic that's different from the bay films yet recognisable, hence G1 inspired designs. Bumblebee made it work and this new one is meant to be a sequel.

 

I'm curious if someone at Hasbro back when they were planning the Siege toyline found a reference pic of a similar truck being transported and used that silhouette as inspiration for his cybertronian truck form

 

Imagine not being able to get over the fact that a franchise that's rebooted itself countless times is rebooting. Like, how dare they take the films in a different direction!

People are excited about the prospect of a Transformers reboot done "right". We had five films made by the same creative team and I for one welcome a fresh take on the franchise.
