I grew up with G1 so that's what I prefer for my collection but that's not to say I wouldn't be interested in seeing some new interpretations for alt modes in a G1 style. I never liked Megatron turning into a gun, just seemed silly, a tank would have been much cooler, which is what they are doing with newer continuities. It would be cool to see if a company could do G1 bot modes but a new take on alt modes for some of the figures like Megatron, Shockwave, Soundwave, etc... I never transform these ones cause they just don't fit in with all the other vehicle/plane alts of the majority of Season 1/2 bots. Plus you just end up with a huge gun that dwarfs an F15 fighter jet when set next to each other.

Face aside, Blaster's animation model didn't differ that much from his original toy.

Same here, I was very impressed with their Starscream from an aesthetics point of view that I'm genuinely curious to see more of their work.

 

Well, being able to replicate the mp52 bot silhouette and straight copy mp52 the mp face, certainly helped.
Don't get me wrong I'm impressed by TE starscream but I know they 'got' great foundation to begin with, for free.
Clearly without having an mp blaster to begin with, you got what you can see in the first picture.

 

True, perhaps but they could improve, because this is seriously lacking in the toon accuracy department but I'm curious to see if they give it the ripped off MP-52 treatment, which would be kinda hard to do as TT hasn't made one yet but you get the point.

Frankly, I've never liked the character Blaster, I always thought he was poor man's Soundwave at best, lack of originality, awful voice and terrible design and colouring, hell, I didn't even realize that up until the movie he didn't have any cassettebots featured in the show, that's how disinterested I am in the character. But mind you if his cassettebots are anywhere near as awesome as MP-13's are he will be bought, haha.

 

Clearly you weren't a comic fan. He was practically the main character of the Transformers for a while there.

 

I want a G1 Marvel comics Blaster. F toon Blaster. Marvel comics Blaster's head was BADASS! Marvel Blaster was one of, if not the, best characters in all of Transformers. He could come with a Scrounge that could convert into melted, smelting pit Scrounge.
