The irony here is I was actually spending quite a bit of time on the site earlier today. Just had a busy afternoon/evening and so I missed out. Again. Fucking fanstoys. The small comfort is that I only need one figure to finish my MP collection and then I'm out. The downside is it's Perceptor. I keep hoping TE/DS will announce one so I can forever wash my hands of FT's stupid artificial scarcity and insane prices.

 

Well good to know I will forever miss out on preorders as they are announced while I'm asleep at 3 in the morning

Ample opportunities to pre-order are yet to come. Don't panic, stay calm.

 

The good thing is all these Americans fight over the US pre-orders as they usually go up first so by the time TFS-Express or the Chinese retailers put up their own pre-orders you're in a better position to get one

 

Hard to tell what's painted - the red looks like paint in some photos but some areas (shoulders) look unpainted in others. Not sure whether the blue is paint at all.

Aside from that - and the fact that if it is painted the red looks metallic (whatever filter FT use on their photos tends to exaggerate this) - he's looking good. Certainly much better than the V1.

 

The Chinese ones were sold out months ago for this guy, tfs-express you have a point, they still have rig sitting up for grabs

Why are you helping people compete against you? If enough people take your advice, it won't be so easy to just casually get it on Taobao anymore.

 

I hardly think he can buy the entire Taobao site's stock, man. Why are you acting like him sharing resources is a bad thing lol?

Im in Shanghai and use Taobao to collect TF and honestly there is zero worry about anything selling out fast...
Normally what happens is that there is a few pre orders happening, but normally you don't need to bother with them, as when the model is released all of a sudden like 5-10 other options instantly appear and you can simply order and expect it to be sent immediately. All the FT insecticons are still there for sale, Quietus etc.. Im sure Chomps will sit around for a few weeks fully available and hopefully Perceptor too   I don't know what its like getting Taobao boxes past international customs, but even if I was living outside of China, Id still use it as it seems pretty stressful to deal with FT pre orders selling out in minutes..

 

And he probably couldn't buy TFsource or Bigbadtoystore's entire stock either...does that change how fast they sell out now that so many people are buying up all the pre-orders?

Whatever you say, man. Taobao isn't a monolith and has massive access to stock, but I'm sure the additional 4-5 people shopping from the US due to Dickenz's link will really up the competition he and other Taobao shoppers will face.

Perceptor doesn't seem to sell that well on TaoBao. Insecticons was barely available during the pre-order phase (though they are easily found now).

This is true, but you also pay a premium. FansToys pre-order discount is very significant.

For the last (couple?) years, TaoBao was the worst place to pre-order FansToys figures, as they sold out so early.

The situation is now reversed.
