Mine as well. I did experiment on the arms but there's no damage free way of fixing the reversed shoulder joints unlike Punch / Counterpunch.

I tried soldering iron method but the forearm assembly prevents clean removal...and would also need 3 other flathead pins to remove. One can still try to pry the shoulders off but would result in warping and not getting the shoulders pads back on properly. Heating the flathead pin to get it back together didn't work because of how much bending was involved.

A more destructive fix but much cleaner (and no damage seen externally) would involve snapping one of the shoulder pads off. Thin metal L-brackets would work. The flathead pin will be loose afterward. Then the flathead pin could either be heated up if one is skilled with a soldering iron or use a springloaded pinpunch to get back in (versus replacing with a regular screw).

I'm going to give the figure away to a local toy drive once we find one with properly assembled shoulders.

The peg holes are just 5mm ports, so easy to fill with any weapon handle that you might have laying around to sacrifice.

    As requested:

I successfully performed the shoulder surgery and removed the battle damage and orange paint from the fusion canon. I used Testor’s ELO for the tampo printed battle damage and orange on the canon. Simply apply the ELO with a cotton swab. Allow it to sit and wait about 40 minutes. The printed paint lifts right off and can be wiped away leaving the plastic pristine. Be mindful of any actual paint (tampo IS NOT PAINT. It’s a type of ink). ELO will remove it QUICKLY. I also applied a coat of Citadel Nun Oil Shade to his face to add definition. Apply Shade to the entire silver surface. Citadel Shade retreats from high points and flows into crevices and low areas. Makes a world of difference.

The surgery is a bit…stressful. Figuratively and literally. The video I watched on YouTube (thank you SparkSide - YRQRM0) had some great tips. Follow those tips. The shoulders are constructed of a hard PVC. That’s a good thing. They will flex without breaking and almost any stress marks can be completely removed. I hit each shoulder with a hair dryer on high for about a minute. Move the hair dryer in small circles over the shoulder and watch the stress marks completely disappeared.

The only crappy part is my canon was cracked right out of the box. So, I’m stuck with that. Anyone else have a cracked canon? Hope it isn’t a widespread issue.

Anyway hope this helps. Don’t be afraid to try the surgery. If you can avoid deep mars a hairdryer will sort any stress marks. Because of the plastic type the stress marks should be minor and only appear around the area in which you inserted the flathead screwdriver. Good luck!

That's been an option, but some folks don't want to see the pin head on the front. We've even seen folks put in plugs on that pin head side.

...why would I? Anyone watching the video would get the joke. If we have to explain things to people to this point, then we truly are doomed and people aren't even trying to use their intelligence, now.

    Anyway, moving on...

CMDStore and DDMark (his account on eBay) have Galvatron in-stock. CMD still says preorder, but it's in the new arrivals section and they just haven't updated, yet.

    I hope.

But which is the error then? It being in the "new arrival" section, or it still being in "pre order"?

    Thanks for the heads up.

Any others you think haven't been updated yet?

Not at the moment. The best way to explain their system is their eBay is what's updated first, so if it's in-stock there, it'll soon be on the site. Even if it says pre-order, they'll fulfill the order made. If it's not on their eBay, it's not ready to ship.

Already discussed to death. People know about the pin. The point of the video is that it was a joke. If people actually watched the video, they'd get the joke. They don't have to laugh at it if they don't want to, but the whole back and forth after posting it wasn't even necessary.

    Good video indeed.

As always, with any "job", having the correct tools makes things a TON easier.

I wonder if using a soldering iron to heat the pin partially before attempting to pry it apart will help at all? Usually does when it comes to pins/rivets.

Also, reinserting it will probably be much easier with an automatic pin punch. I've used mine on a ton of projects to not only remove pins, but to reset them firmly as well.
