Retail both times because Target doesn’t like returns on open toys and both times they didn’t have another copy of the same figure to exchange it with.

If something's wrong with the toy, Target has never given me any issues about returning ones that have been opened.

That's such a low bar though. The Classics mold is a better Starscream. People have just been hung up on its size for years.

I'm perfectly happy with the classics seekers. Best part of Earthrise seekers was everyone dumped their classics Skywarp and I got one for $30 to complete my set. :)

I’ve gone directly to Hasbro Customer Service on two occasions for defective figures (one was bought from Pulse...I think...and the other was bought at Target). I think you have to set up a free account with their website. It’s a simple process, and both times I was provided with a replacement figure of comparable or greater value. They replaced a Siege Optimus with a Siege Optimus and they replaced a Cobra Island Trooper with a Cobra Island Baroness (still can’t figure that one out...Baroness is a $40 item compared to the $20 trooper). At any rate, I highly recommend contacting them...I’ve never been let down.

Do you remember the specific site you sign up to? And did you have to provide a receipt? Sorry to bother you with all that, its just that I'm considering finding out if I qualify for a replacement on my Cheetor that broke without any force.

    No worries.

    Home Page

Edit: and the CS rep who contacts you will ask for some information regarding location of purchase and some serial/production numbers stamped on the figure. I can’t recall if I had to provide a receipt...don’t think I did. Note that the issues I had with my figures were QC-related (missing and/or malfunctioning parts). I don’t know if you’ll have any trouble convincing them that the breakage on your Cheetor was not your fault, but it’s definitely worth a shot.

Going off memory, they wanted the date and store where it was purchased, an id number of the figure itself, and a batch number (?) from the box when I contacted them.

Those things ring a bell. I dug back through my emails and found the following list of things the CS rep asked for:

    -Date of purchase
-Date code of product; five digit code on foot, leg or back of figure OR on package: EX 91234A
-Vendor code; on foot, leg or back of figure OR on package near "Made in China": EX C-123A

Says the guy who reads said sightings posts. Rolling my eyes. Just sign off and never come back to the sightings posts if it’s THAT BIG of a deal.

Local Target had a decent stack of Dracodons, no Soundwaves. They only got put out last night so the Soundwaves all went quick.

    Big blue still got it.

Got mine today. Though all the ball joints are the loosest of the other core class figures.

Of course he does, look at netflix version, anything to do with seekers or soundwave rakes in cash by name alone. Soundwave, especially anything that remotely looks like his g1 self is a guaranteed money back investment.

So puzzled by this figure's release. It isn't available for pre-order in the US, Hasbro doesn't give an actual release date, just "Fall 2021", but he's available for pre-order on the HP UK store with a release date of August 9th, 2021. Yet this thread shows he's at selected retail locations in the US already. WTH.

    Yes.
Soundwave & dracodon have started to pop up on Target so far.
With nearly everything available online, the brick & mortar stores may have wanted something just for in-store purchase.
Bring you in to store for 1 thing, get you to spot purchase something else.

I think Hasbro just wants to make sure these sell in store so we don't get a repeat of the previous $10 price point, the Micromasters. I'm sure they have tons of plans with this and if Walmart says "nope. Don't sell, we won't carry them", then they won't be able to really do anything with those plans.
