As long as it\'s a good product, they could call it anything. Call it Manboyhandmorphers. No one truly cares.

The company is new, but the word “deformation” has been used through a ton of 3p and KO’s as a replacement to the word “transform”

Judging by the name of that company, will it be OS MPP?[IMG]

They have a masterpiece starscream on the way soon. Already showed a prototype.
I have seen a couple youtubers claim this company is a descendent of Black Mamba. Of course youtubers make unsubstantiated claims every day and then some.

Were they always the same company or at some point separate entities?

Always the same. Some of the TE boxes even have a bar code with a BMB logo on it.

    for example, their Bumblebee:

That face doesn't look good but still curious to see how it'll turn out. At a glance it seems more accurate than Transistor was and I'm assuming this one will be better built (granted I absolutely love Transistor's transformation)

That is true but the stand out is the cassette design with this so far the bot has room to improve for sure.

9 pics of Ramhorn & only 2 of Blaster.. nice.

I like it, maybe a bit too faithful to the G1 toy. It looks like they just threw some elbow joints on the original.

Hoping this is successful. Great to see some other options for characters beyond the usual suspects getting some love, especially Blaster.

That said ... (Braces for backlash)

... I\'d really love to see someone take on a Blaster and/or Soundwave that have vehicle modes. Like, Earth vehicle modes. Listen, I loved the 80s too, but that was a long time ago. The last time I saw a tape deck was in a junk bin. I know Animated and Cyberverse have used this concept, but a Soundwave who turns into a tricked out ride with a bumpin\' sound system out the back? Or a Blaster who transforms into a classic ride on hydraulics? I\'d be in. Most likely will never happen, but just releasing the idea into the ether.

In lieu of that, I\'ll gladly take a Scrounge ;)

Obviously wrong, they also gave him actual feet as opposed to little flaps. ;p

Exactly. Fanstoys can charge so much and play silly games with limited runs and random re-releases and re-colours, precisely because there isn't that much competition. Even if there are other companies doing a figure, they aren;t always good enough to be considered actually competitive (looking at you XTB Kup!!) I don't enjoy the price and hassle of ordering FT products but I do it because its rare for something else to scratch that itch as well as they do.

  Given the frankly bizarre names we often get for 3rd Party products and companies, this is really kind of irrelevant. Outside of forums like this, it's almost unheard of to refer to a 3P or KO by anything other than the character name.
I'll talk about "Maketoys Meteor" here on TFW or maybe in a Facebook group, but in every other place I would EVER mention it, it's just "Starscream".
    Names are pretty irrelevant.
I still remember how one person got upset because of what NewAge called their Starscream and how it offended their religious sensibilities.
Billy Shakespeare said it best: "What's in a name? That which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet”
    1) they are also behind the new MP Starscream
    2) "Deformation" is and has been a very commonly used term in 3P and even more so KO's for many years. It gets the point across, is close enough to "Transform" to be recognisable but is distinct enough to avoid the automated filters and keyword blockers on some sites that try and prevent the sale of Trademark infringing toys.

Nothing wrong with wanting something different but at that point it's not G1 MP anymore, and unfortunately it no longer appeals to that specific market segment.
Up until recently, G1 MP has been, far and away, the more popular (and I suspect more profitable) style/scale. It's getting a good run for it's money these days with G1 Legends, which is positively booming at the moment, but that still has that "G1" identifier.
I'm in no way certain of numbers or sales figures but it seems likely that G1 nostalgia is still a better way to make money than an original figure would be.
I know I, for one, have zero interest in anything not G1.
I dabbled briefly with IDW (which is really kind of "Neo-G1" anyways ) and a few Beast Wars (which is just Post-G1) but those G1 cartoons are the only style that can easily pull me back in.
I saw a modern take on Superion on these boards, and thought "Huh, that looks really cool. What a great design" ... and then I promptly clicked away and never looked back at that thread. As cool as it looked, it was never going to get a sale out of me.
BUt there are some companies out there that like to try something new, and stretch the boundaries, so there's always a chance that someone will make what you're asking for. Otherwise, just wait for senility and poor life choices to take out us old-school G1 fans and wait for the new kids on the block to step in and do something fresh!!:rip  But until then... "Get off my lawn ya crazy young'un!!":p  (knowing there's a good chance your no spring chicken yourself!!;) )
