I already got my Dragon Quest rep so I've been perfectly satisfied with whatever new characters they add (still don't really like Steve but meh, he's fine.)

The only character reveal that could genuinely piss me off at this point is probably Waluigi...

Its the popular one that came out on the Gamecube and is the best-selling one outside of Japan

I dunno who the face of Tales is, but the fact I know Lloyd and don't have the foggiest who they have as the face of it tells a lot about how much more popular this game is. Plus, we're always hopeful for characters to transcend from Mii Fighter to actual fighter (Poor Geno), so hoping Lloyd, main character of the most popular Tales game, could transcend was hopeful.

Mind I'm still hoping on Tails or Eggman, particularly Tails as I remember those old rumours about Melee and want them to finally be true

I will just crush your hopes here: This petition is pointless. Nintendo will not see it. Even if they do see it, nothing will change and it'll be whoever they pick. The only chance of fan demand giving us a character would be Waluigi

I'm happy that Kazuya's in the game. I would've preferred Jin, but Kazuya's definitely a lot more iconic. He looks like he'll end up being the most fun fighting game-original character to play as.

But dammit, I hope Crash ends up being the final fighter.

I don’t care. I’m gonna keep screaming for the Slayer to get into Smash, even if I have to flood Sakurai’s inbox to get it to happen!

Terry's actually the main face of Fatal Fury, Mai is just one of the most popular for obvious reasons

I didn't know who Terry was prior to him coming to Smash. I knew who Mai was cause I thought she was the main character and I seen her face before.

I just find it funny how the entire pass has all these things I like (MinMin as Arms gal, Steve for the memes, Sephiroth to complete Cloud, Pyra/Mythra's swap gimmick, Kazuya as Tekken Rep) but they don't bring enough hype for me to purchase the pass, and if history repeats itself yet again, then the last fighter will have the least hype of the entire pass and I won't buy it.... I'd love to be wrong tho.

This whole pass kinda been underwhelming. Alot of the characters I feel should be in the game, simply aren't in. The only wish that was granted was Banjo. I have no attachment to these other series and I don't care about them enough. I own the passes, and their fun to play as, plus I respect Sakurai and his team for working hard on each individual fighter.

But, no one made me go "wow, they got in?!" Except Banjo. Characters like Master Chief, Rayman, Scorpion and Crash are characters I want because I love them. There are reasons I guess, but I wish the game had more of my favorites. I may sound a little selfish, but you need to look through the perspective of someone who's favorite characters aren't in.

I think so far they've chosen a pretty good variety of characters and there's at least one that appeals to most gamers. Hero is the only one I really wanted and none of the other characters have wowed me, but I know there's someone who is happy with their addition.

I'll just be happy to see the roster completed now~

Doom Slayer would be the one and only reason I’d consider the game, otherwise it ain’t worth it at all

I agree almost 100%. I appreciate all of the effort that Sakurai and Co have been putting into the dlc and this game, but almost all of the choices made for what characters were made dlc fighters were strangely disappointing.
I don't think I have ever seen anybody legitimately ask for piranha plant to be in the game, but that is the one they decided to show off to announce their paid dlc packs like that was going to be a draw for people.
I do think that it set a very good precedent for what to expect for the dlc packs though, it told us from the very beginning to not even bother trying to guess who's going to be dlc, because there is hardly a rhyme or reason for the grouping.

Now that roughly 90% of the characters have been revealed for the dlc of the game, I can honestly say that I am disappointed in the roster of dlc. This was their opportunity to get some major draw characters to really bring in the money,
but instead they opted for a grab bag of various characters from all over the place. Like, I was happy that Arms got some representation in Smash, but I would have rather had Springman or Ribbongirl be the dlc fighter because they are the mascots of the game. Same with piranha plant, I would have rather had an assortment of other Mario characters be playable characters over piranha plant, but instead we got the immobile plant monster as a smash fighter.
Again, the best dlc announcement was Banjo and Kazooie, because I actually passingly wanted them in smash and they ended up being fighters.
The grand majority of the dlc characters are from franchises that I simply don't care about, and that's a shame because I know there have been some characters that should have had some smash representation and now it feels like it won't happen because they're TOO reasonable to have in the game, like Waluigi and Bandana Waddle Dee are two characters I would have liked to see in the game but won't get in because the final dlc is either going to be from some one-off franchise for smash bros representation (a la Kazuya from Tekken) or the 11th character from a series already in smash (a la Super Mario Bros).

Also, to prevent anybody's hopes from going too high. Based on how the previous fighter pass went and the repeating trends in this lineup, the last dlc character for this one is most likely a Fire Emblem character.

The final DLC can be someone mind blowing, but at the same time it can also be another Fire Emblem character.
As someone who been playing the games since Brawl, I love this series as much as I hate it. Sakurai deserves a retirement.

You have legitimate and valid points in your rants but when it boils down to it what you're saying is just "I didn't get what I want therefore it sucks".

What I hate the most about the western Smash speculation scene (or heck, the western fandom in general) is just how they seem to completely be unable to comprehend just how wide the Pacific Ocean is. And I don't mean that literally. They act like getting third party characters into the game merely consists of signing some papers and a handshake. No, the process is way more complex and convoluted than that and that's just with the Japanese companies: it gets even more complicated with western companies where time zones, language barriers, different corporate work environments, currency exchanges, long distance commute, and other factors come into play. Its not the same like with say, if Nintendo had to negotiate something with Capcom, then all the Nintendo rep has to do is hop on the JR Kyoto Line for the twenty minute train ride from Kyoto to Osaka and boom, you're now at Capcom HQ. And while the HQs of Sega, Square Enix, and Bandai Namco are farther away, a two-hour bullet train trip between Kyoto and Tokyo isn't all that much of a problem. That ain't the case with Western developers: the ones in California are at least a 10 hour flight away (not counting the amount of time it takes to get through customs and factoring in jet lag or the language barrier and such) and its even worse for the ones on the East coast. Even for Nintendo of America, which is in Redmond, Washington, getting to the HQs of the companies in California or the East coast is going to take several hours on a plane.

The exception to this is Microsoft, whose headquarters are literally down the street from Nintendo of America (seriously, you can walk between NoA and Microsoft HQ in just four minutes). And even with that convenience it took a whopping five years to negotiate for Minecraft to be in Smash Bros. I'm willing to bet that the negotiations for Banjo & Kazooie took place simultaneously. So, given the convenient location between NoA and Microsoft and that somewhat aloof attitude Microsoft has toward their gaming division and it still took years of negotiation.

Take a look at Crash Bandicoot as an example. He's probably the western character who makes the absolute most sense to be added to Smash from a gamer's perspective and there are a lot of speculators wondering why the heck he hasn't been added yet. The thing that annoys me about that however is that almost none of these speculators seem to even consider the guys who actually own Crash: Activision. You know, Activision, one of the most scummiest, greediest AAA developers in the gaming industry. Whereas Microsoft is rather aloof with their gaming properties, Activision is far more greedy and thus probably a lot more difficult to negotiate with. Plus, whereas NoA and Microsoft have their HQs right next to each other in Redmond, WA, Activision's HQ is located in Santa Monica, CA. Negotiations between Nintendo and Microsoft took years but with their close proximity, that could have been easily been done as a part of the negotiator's everyday job. In contrast, to negotiate with Activision, Nintendo would have to fly a team out to Santa Monica and if the negotiations drag on for years, how often is NoA going to fly a team out there?

That doesn't mean Crash won't be coming to Smash Bros. There's still the possibility that Crash is the final character in the pass. I just don't think its likely.

Also, while I agree that you shouldn't hype yourself up for the last character, don't joke about it being a Fire Emblem character if you can't identify which specific FE character its going to be.

Uh, you misunderstood the point of the post I made. I wasn't saying that they sucked, if you're excited for every single character they unveiled, then great! What I was saying was that I was disappointed with it and that I felt they were an odd choice of characters for paid dlc. I wouldn't mind at all having the dlc characters if they were free, but I don't care enough about any character individually to warrant the purchase. I feel like the mentality of "it sucks because I don't like it" is very childish and I try to avoid falling into it. If I sounded like I was saying that than I'll try harder to word my statements better. I simply felt like the characters are from such a wide range of unlike genres and eras that the odds of being a big fan of all the franchises included in a single smash character pack is decently low.
I also don't play Fire Emblem, so I can't really say who would be, other than maybe a blue-haired sword user. That's a pretty safe guess from what I'm aware of from the franchise.
