The X2-Toys upgrade kit for CW Megatron.

    reduced-image_10431_106.jpg

While it looked nice, its integration into the tank mode was frustratingly clunky. That I could have dealt with, but the plastic was so weak that it would develop fractures all over after being applied until everything eventually just broke apart. Huge waste of money.

Yeah this was my mention. I actually have one that is "ok" and still on display. Most weren't that lucky:

-maketoys devil stinger (black zarak). all the scorpion legs pop off if you breathe on them as well as other pieces. stress on plastic in some areas. it looks amazing but man... if tfsource ever has a steep sale on something, its probably because the product is defective in some way. and no, they wont refund you.

    - the mmc lockdown/cyclonus. it looks great but again, not the best joints and cheapish plastic feel. i was afraid to mess with any of them in fear of pieces snapping off.

    - transart BW ravage. the figure itself is okay, though some parts are impossibly tight, and also i got one with missing pieces in the box so it was just a disappointing purchase since i couldnt transform him into jaguar mode without his paws.

    - fanstoys quietus (cyclonus). im happy i got a replacement chest for him, but the original chest got scratched up to the bare metal due to his transformation. fanstoys isnt good and i've no idea why its worshipped. its up there with XTB previous goofs (although XTB has been killin it lately).

in my experience, 3p has been kind of relaxed with QC. its not uncommon for me to get stuff like warped swords, glaring chipped paint, loose joints and parts, stuff just never tabbing in, and other issues.

Anyone remember this pile of hot trash, and his Optimus counterpart? Even with the replacement hips it was a floppy piece of shit

Mp-21 bumblebee. An $80 chug figure. That pissed me off when I received it. Earthrise bumblebee is almost identical. Total crap

X-Transbots Fuzz/Streetwise: I don't think this needs much clarification. I love the character Streetwise, I loathe this XTB rendition.

Unique Toys Predaking: Impossibly tight ratchets with soft plastic resulted in a lot of warped plastic. Posing and balancing was also a challenge, mine tumbled from its shelf several times until I finally got rid of it. My first 3rd Party disappointment.

I had to be talked out of buying that set multiple times. It doesn't help that an additional trailer the armor was meant to mount onto for truck mode ultimately went unreleased.

My only reason for buying this was to have Predacons that actually scaled properly with the rest of my CW figures (same reason I went with TFC's Hercules), sadly it has a lot of problems, and 98% of them revolve around the Razorclaw figure.

It's still my representing Predaking, but if a decent replacement ever happened, one that scales with the CHUG size and actually looks like the characters, I wouldn't hesitate to replace it.

I understand the immense pain of dissatisfaction with a third party figure, but at the same time just straight up throwing one away... it just feels like something I could never bring myself to personally do considering the limited number these products exist in. At most I'd try to sell it to someone who'd want it... or more likely do the throwing out for me.

Daca toys Kronos: worst 3rd party figure I ever owned. Broken out of the box, broke further while trying to pose it. I found someone who took it off my hands for free.

DX9 Gabriel: first one had a defect with the screw for its arm right out of the box; stripped to the point that it wouldn’t hold. Replacement had the same problem, but didn’t discover it until I tried to transform it. Second copy was also prone to diving off the shelf, more so than Terminus Giganticus, who, while he wobbles a lot, hasn’t fallen over yet.

Fanstoys Quietus: beautiful modes, but the transformation was not fun at all.

Fanstoys Hydra: looked great, but was a floppy mess and not as fun as Hanzo or Hexatron. Took several scary dives off the shelf before I sold it.

I bought it second-hand. I was the “someone [doing] the throwing out” for someone else. Trust me, I wanted to like this figure but it literally wouldn’t stay together. It wouldn’t hold a pose; parts would spontaneously fall off. I couldn’t in good conscience pass it off to another collector.

Many years ago I had a little runabout twist'n'go that was so bad I felt the same way about not passing it on in good conscience... so me and a mate took it to his shooting range and used it for target practise with shotguns. It was used by quite a few people in the following weeks 'til it all but disappeared.

It may have been a piece of crap but went out like a viking.

Oh yeah! Did the same with a Brutus the Barber Beefcake WWF action figure in the mid 90s in the backyard of a friend's house. We took him out with a Softair pistol several times and then glued him back together because he was such a great target. Until one day he was beyond repair. RIP :(

Where my XTB Locke heads at! Biggest waste of $100 ever (well, there was that one time at the strip club when I was underage, but we’re strictly talking TFs here right?) :)
