Well, according to Doctor Strange, he looked into something like a million different realities and the MCU movie one is the only one he saw where they defeated Thanos. So yeah- I’d say that’s kinda sacred.

    I'm a bit bothered by
the show implying that everything that happens in the MCU is stuff that's supposed to happen. Like, we as the audience know that the Avengers are supposed to stop Thanos and bring everyone back. But it's different when characters in the universe are aware of it. It kinda undermines those achievements if it was already predetermined. But if the show goes into themes of free will and going against destiny, I'll be more intrigued.

I hope the show eventually explains just how deviant timelines happen, since the little infomercial didn’t make much sense. Like how exactly was the Avengers travelling through time and bungling stealing the tesseract “supposed” to happen but not Loki escaping? If people don’t have free will how can they commit crimes against the timeline? And if the Avengers not stealing the tesseract there was supposed to happen, since they then had to go back even further to get another, what was supposed to happen to it at that point in time? TVA never put it back. The rules as they stated them don’t really align with what actually happened.

I’m also a bit unconvinced of Loki’s development. It’s the same problem I had with Thanos in Endgame. This Loki is the younger, less developed character from Avengers 1, rather than the character we’re more familiar with. Sure he watched a few clips from other movies his life, but that’s not the same as character development. This little expository introspection scene was also hamfisted. Granted it’s a much more minor issue here than with Thanos in Endgame, but it still feels off.

I think that's why this show felt like the most unnecessary of the Disney Plus shows so far. He already had a pretty complete character arc in the movies, so it just feels like they're just gonna use his show to develop the multiverse, and he's just along for the ride.

I think that’s precisely what the show is about. I think we’ll find that out when we finally meet
”Devil Loki” who isn’t actually bad, the Time-Keepers are.
I think that’s why you have
    Devil Loki
to some degree I think he’s the real character development. The little expository introspection worked for me because it was backed-up with the
infinity stones / tesseract being worthless in the TVA, if everything you’ve fought to get is neutered and you killed your mom and get murdered yourself... that’s got to be humbling.
But I think the TVA is
bad, the Time Keepers bad, something is off and Devil Loki is right.
I also think it’s possible this leads smack into
Kang and he corrupted or maintains the “sacred” timeline because it leads to Kang

    Just speculation of course.

As far as the Infinity Stones being useless outside their native universe, it's a concept I got used to since JLA/Avengers came out.

yeah 14 million "possibilities" with only one where they defeat thanos...it was never really clarified if he went to other realities.

but regardless if you have 14 mil outcomes that are supposed to be thanos wins, and only one where avengers win, I would actually propose that the other 14 mil are the correct flow of time and the one where it doesnt happen is the outlier/deviant/anamoly.

may be looking way too much into this or again it could be how the 3 timekeepers see it as sacred because it is the only one where they can rise to power with thanos out of the picture.

I think you're most likely correct with this. Especially that the stories with the TVA I'm familiar with have the TVA antagonizing the Fantastic Four.

Could you take two forces more naturally inclined to repel each other than Loki the God of Mischief and the TVA? Could Loki ever be aligned with predestiny and Fate?

Mischief, Trickster is the antithesis of order and predestiny.

Just got around to watching the first episode and I liked it a lot. I could see this being my favorite of the current Marvel series.

Yup and that comic got called out for it by fans as they worked for a year in the ultraverse just fine a few years before this story. It's a lame recon.

Yeah, it feels very much like the show wants to use THAT Loki, but he is dead, so they are using a loophole to still have him around even though he did not have such character development. Much of the first episode is basically about getting him to the same point... neglecting that a lot of this happened via his interactions with Thor and how they reconciled.

I think he saw the outcomes FROM that point in time, where Thanos already had all but 2 stones and a lot of characters were dead. There are/were probably a lot of realities where Thanos was never even born...

I love that moment. Darkseid really doesn't even need the gauntlet, even without it he has powers that'd rival Thanos (like his Omega beams). He realizes this is a waste of his time and instead of clinging to an object of power that is no use to him and could only bring heroes and villains to his domain, gets rid of it.

Given how many scenes are in the trailer where Loki is still fighting against the TVA (even killing some), that's something I feel is gonna happen...

This? Maybe. Wandavision? Not really. I can sum it up with one sentence: "Wanda creates fake family for herself, gets her comic book magic powers, Vision comes back". So little happened in that show, it was a waste of my time.

    Calling it now.

The reason nobody knows what happens at the end of time is because the Time Keepers are attempting to maintain the only timeline in which they come out in top.

Also jesus how many times I gotta listen to that song this week. :lol
